Nice guy but I hated this class. I was expecting a more in depth version of Bio 1201 but it didn't even seem like the same subject. His class is more like an environmental science class and that's not what I signed up for. He required us to read a ridiculous amount of articles and there was a lot of assignments outside of class.

Amazing in Climate Eff & it was by far my favorite class. Plant Phys is a different story. The tests were ridiculous at best, harder than biochem & human phys put together. I couldn't wrap my head around the subject & he did nothing to help those who don't dedicate their lives to plants understand. Great guy but this class is way over the top

Dr. Neufeld is extremely knowledgable about his subjects, and makes lectures interesting. His tests cover a LOT of material though, so make sure to study plenty. Interesting person to talk to outside class as well, as he has lots of great opinions.

Dr N is very smart and really cares about what he is teaching about. In this class there is a good bit of work and assignments but they aren't hard at all. They will help boost up your exam grades which count the most. He gives study guides for exams. He cares about students and is willing to help you out!! Great teacher!

Dr. Neufeld is an extremely qualified and passionate individual. The class is pretty interesting and he throws in some fun facts and witty comments during lectures so you're not completely bored. It's clear he wants everyone to get an A in the class so if you're struggling, he's very willing to help.

I LOVE HOWIE NEUFELD! He's hot and brilliant. He clearly cares about climate change and trees and knows enough about them to fill an entire library. I love how he focuses all his exams around plants-- if you're a plant person, take this class! I want to be him (or with him) when I grow up.

Dr. Neufeld is a great professor. He really knows what he is talking about and he is passionate about biology in general. He has done a lot of research regarding environmental issues and really knows his stuff. He helped me with something outside of class and was very genuine and wanted to help. Definitely would recommend!

Awesome Bio class. You'll love him as long as you just pay attention and keep up with the work. There isn't a lot, but because of snow causing cancellations some of the scheduling was off. But nonetheless, awesome teacher. Take him if you can!

text-search powerpoints for the online quizzes. take notes during lectures. I didn't use my textbook once. He's very passionate and knowledgeable. He sends a lot of emails of things he finds interesting. short essays and "in-class" projects; do well on these. attendance is a small percentage of final grade, but you need to go anyway for notes.

Difficult class! I really enjoyed the out-of-class assignments for this class, but his lectures are the full 50 minutes (no exception) and they are full of facts which are difficult to remember. I actually enjoyed writing the 4 short essays because they asked about our opinions on global issues.

Dr. Neufeld is very intelligent and passionate about his subject. Dr. Neufeld studied at the Yale School of Forestry and is into anything that involves nature. Send Dr. Neufeld questions and he will answer quickly. There are essays and projects throughout the class, but most are simple. Tests are tough and take notes during lecture.

Dr. Neufeld's Air Pollution class was the most fun class I had all semester. He is incredibly smart and the class is very interesting. I'm not quite sure what some of these other reviews are talking about with his difficulty. His tests are fairly straightforward and he gives pretty good study guides. 10/10 great class.

I'm not a fan of Biology, but Dr. Neufeld made the subject interesting. We went over stuff like climate control, global warming, etc... which in my opinion are way more interesting than the generic biology class. His lectures are very long and are packed with a lot of info, but the projects are super easy. Very, very smart man.

Very passionate professor, obviously intelligent. BUT his lectures hardly ever correlated with lab. He spends a very long time on climate change global warming and evolution vs everything else. This wouldn't be a problem if it was a seminar class (it was interesting). However, what was taught wasn't what most people signed up for.

Nice guy and fairly helpful to all of his students, but the class is still very hard. I showed up to every class and studied hard, but got away with a C. If you take a class with Dr. Neufeld study like you have never studied before!

3 exams. 2 presentations. Powerpoints are awful.. way too much information on slides. Neufeld fills your inbox with at least 4 emails a day of things you just might be "interested" in. Would not recommend unless extremely interested in topic.

His teaching style/subject material is as stimulating as watching grass grow. Condescending and rude. I am a bio major with a 3.9 GPA and I've taken loads of boring classes, but this one takes the cake. He reads verbatim off his ppts (which don't help) and his tests require you to remember a never-ending list of useless facts. Avoid this class!

Great class for both Bio and Non-Bio majors. Neufeld has a good sense of humor and provides so much interesing information to the anyone who is interested. The class is mainly based on powerpoints and is very easy. Xtra credit offered through Darwin lectures. Regardless of your major, do not be scared of this class, it is informative and easy.

Dr.Neufeld definitely loves the subject but doesn't make lectures interesting. The lectures are very boring and quite frankly going to class is a waste of time. No papers to write; to study for the tests he gives you study guides which help a lot. Over all, his class is easy if you study. If you don't you will def. fail.
