Comment:

He tries to scare you off the first day of class but he's hilarious and not too bad. You have a group presentation and quiz each weak, but it's not difficult. He lectures and likes to sprinkle in some jokes which keeps the class going and interesting. Overall, just do what is expected and participate and you should be fine.

He seems really mean at first, but it gets better after a few weeks. After that, he's kinda funny and starts liking you. Be sure to the get the book before the semester starts! The workload is easy and repetitive. It's an easy A as long as you show up and do the work.

This man is a trip. Makes the same jokes every class, but for some reason its funny. He doesnt tolerate anyone messin around. Hes like a strict dad who only likes his kids but still yells at his kids (us). The homework is straight forward. Easy A, but his class can be a pain if you do not like typing. Buy the book, youll need it. I like him, kinda.

If you do all the work and show up, you will get an A. Just be aware that he does not allow anyone messing around. He will drop students who don't do there work or or respect him. Easiest A I have ever gotten, just have to do the weekly writings, essays, and presentations.

Although his lectures were not the most exciting, he is a great professor and a passing grade is guaranteed, as long as you show up everyday. Homework is the same every week and online quizzes every weekend, but are very easy.

nice guy, willing to help, responds to e-mails. Class was an easy A as long as you do your work. quizzes every week online not to hard if you skim through the chapter. You have to write up summaries every week. lectures arent every helpful.

The classwork can be extremely tedious + involves a great deal of writing. You do a presentation at least twice a week, but only have to read small portions of chapters in the textbook + 2 of Plato's dialogues. The professor's voice can be hard to follow at times (thick accent), but he's respectful and tells good jokes sometimes. Groupwork-based

This class was awesome! If I am being honest I did not even want to take philosophy, I had no interest in it but solely took it to fit a GE requirement. After being in a class with Prof Afshari he made me love the class! The first day of class he is very intimidating but its all an act. Best Professor on campus! Easiest A.

I enjoyed having him as my professor. His class is super easy. All you have to do is the chapter summaries and group exercise. He is very good at explaining the chapter and he keeps the class interesting. Also, the midterm was not hard at all and neither was the final, so long as you read the book.

He is very "Gucci" and does not waste time. He is extremely funny and outgoing. Usually is in a great mood and tells lots of interesting stories about himself. Just do your chapter and group summaries and show up for the credit!

Hugh is honestly a very inspiring professor. He expects what other professors would expect and that is your attention, and your dedication to his class. People dropped the first day because they thought he was too strict or gave so much homework, but the homework in the class is not hard. Weekly summaries and a group paper. TAKE THIS CLASS

DON'T DROP THE FIRST DAY. He puts on an act to scare people, he's completely different the second day. He's humorous and nice. This class was tedious, but it's easy busy work. His midterm/final essays are annoying but do-able if you are on track. Don't expect to learn much about critical thinking as his personal stories/examples don't correlate

really great professor super easy as long as you do your weekly summaries,group excise and online test every week. really easy to get an A in his class he's really nice and willing to help. He can be unclear sometimes but every week the same 3 assignments are due so as long as you do them you'll pass even if you have no idea whats going on.

Veeeery easy professor. Lectures are confusing mainly because they are so scattered and pointless. He really expects participation though and will get mad if no one is participating. Only have to write 2 pages a week and he grades them at the end of the semester. Also, the midterm and final are group projects. He is a very easy grader and nice guy!

Very boring. It is an easy A though. All you have to do is write your chapter summaries/group discussion questions & take the online quizzes at home each week & you will be fine. I never really knew what was going on in the class, his instructions aren't that clear. There is a group essay for the midterm (easy) & the final was an in class essay

One of my favorite Professors so far! While the class can get boring for time to time, he is such an amazing guy. He tries to make something as boring as philosophy fun. If you need to take a philosophy class, TAKE HIS!
