Comment:

This teacher is the most confusing teacher. He asks questions that literally have no answers behind it. He makes you feel stupid. No basis on grading papers. He pauses in the middle of his lecture like he's confused on what he just said. The class is so poorly run and you don;t have to show up if he doesn't call your name on random questions he ask

Going to class is like listening to NPR. So long as you respect the margins you should get an A on every paper. I wouldn't say the final is a reckoning, but it does require 12 pages in a blue book. Also Humphrey doesn't blindly teach religion, he offers alternative viewpoints and often challenges it.

Hugh is the bomb! Yes he is not scared to call you out, and yes he is boring at times, but the man knows religion. He cares about the students and loves Fairfield University. If you look through the material before class, you will be fine on tests. Easy A or B. And he respects all people and will help you with anything after his class.

Hugh is the man. He explains everything in class, and there are a paper for each of the gospels studied, with a midterm and a final. The papers are an easy A if you put some effort in, and the tests are not that difficult if you skim the readings. He's one of the best teachers here, and he's a loveable guy. Take him without any reservation.

Although he is tough, I learned so much last semester when I had his class. We do have readings every night, but it helps to read it because we discuss it during the next class. He does give us three five page papers to write and quizzes based on the homework readings. He's an excellent religion professor who changed my view on religion.

best teacher at fairfield, he is nice and basically just has group discussions as a class. You don't need to read or really do anything, when he calls on you all you need to do is just shoot the **** and he will move on to the next person and he doesnt call on people to make u mess up he just tries to incorporate everyone.tak him

dr. humphrey is a good prof. he likes to call people out in class, but all he wants it for you to repeat his viewpoint. gives easy quizzes right from the book and as long as you spit out all the stuff he tells u in lectures, your grades will be high. term paper was only 5 pages long and i got a B- for doing a crap job. attendance is not mandatory

I had him for RS10 as well, and he is an awesome teacher. Whoever thinks he is hard must just be lazy because I thought those classes were cakewalks. He knows a lot, and for an older teacher he connects well with the students. I would take him for every RS class that you take at FU.

I really liked him as a teacher.Sometimes I had no idea what he was talking about, but he graded fairly and wasn't too boring as for religion.Kind of awkward going through the attendance list to answer questions, but if you say i don't know, he doesn't care. You're all set if you're an athlete, especially if you're a guy, he seems to like them best

Most boring class I have ever taken. He is arrogant and goes down the attendance list to call on people, just so he can shoot them down. Likes to prove that he is smarter than you by making you feel dumb. Not much work though. Taking notes in class is the only thing you really need in order to do well on the tests.
