Had him for Urban Planning, tough marker. Makes it seem like the tests will be easy, but you have to go into great detail. The two assignments we did were very neat.

Hugh Millward, hmmm probably the most difficult prof that I have ever taken at Smu. He isn't a bad prof but expects you to know any and everything inside and outside.

Evaluation methods do not reflect learning. Extremely hard marker, picky about ridiculous things. Bases too much of his marking on "quality of written english" rather than understanding material. Tests are extremely challenging, and includes obscure facts on it that are irrelevant. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get a better mark. Do not take.

Definitely not the most enthralling lecturer.. can be pretty boring, looks at his slides for most of the class, though hes better in some of his higher level courses Also fairly hard and demanding tests- a lot of memorizing. Can come off as rude at first but ok when you get to know him, hes shy but a smart man. has good labs but bad with technology

Not too difficult for Map and Air, but in higher level courses he is challenging, especially with writing. Urban Land Use was only marked on 4 things. Going to his lectures is necessary for a good mark, as his powerpoints are mainly pictures and figures. Put the effort in and you'll do fine

Great man...he is tough but a great prof...and you really learn in his classes.....he pushes your knowledge and really wants his students to try for excellence ... as often as i have hated his classes in the end I LOVED them because they really broadened my knowledge base.

His lectures can be a tad boring, but his labs are interesting and allow you to really learn the material. He marks fair, the more effort you put into the course the more you will get out. If you have any confusion on answers in the labs be sure to pull him aside and discuss it with him during the lab period.

This guy is smart but he is a crappy prof. Marks too hard. You will not get what you usually do for marks with this guy. I also think this guy may ripp people off on marks. Cares too much about his research and it ruins the class because he has no interest in teaching it!
