Clearly outlines the work of the course. Is friendly and has a good sense of humour. Offers decent feedback on assignments, and he usually returns them within a reasonable time frame. Made an otherwise unenjoyable subject tolerable for me. Not the hardest marker I've encountered, but you definitely want to put some effort into your work.

Very nice and helpful. Always willing to help students. I don't think he was a harsh marker, but you definitely need to work if you want to receive a good grade. He tells you exactly what will be on the test and quizzes. Recommend!

Knowledgeable, probably a nice person, a great class overall. Not too boring course material (primarily Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde). BTW I clicked that class was not mandatory even though translation exercises (Middle English --> modern) are in total worth 10% of the final grade (about 1% each).

Dr.Higgins is easy going and very helpful. Medieval English is hard, but he makes it very enjoyable and easy to understand. He is helpful outside of the classroom. Expectation is straightforward. He encourages students to look at the texts and think creatively. No presentation. Just some translation exercise, midterm, one essay, and a final.

I was dreading taking this course, but Professor Higgins made the material understandable and interesting. His lectures are interactive, dynamic, and engaging. He really tries to communicate concepts in numerous ways which is helpful for those who have different learning styles. Overall, excellent prof and I would take any course I could with him.

I. Love. Iain Higgins. He's so funny, I want to go to all his lectures just to hear his jokes (although he might not be doing it on purpose... either way its entertaining). He's clearly passionate about the subject matter and is incredibly smart without making students feel overwhelmed. Just overall a great prof. Super easy quizzes.
