Awesome prof. Extra credit is built into the grade basis, and if you do well during the semester, you can skip the final and still get an A. Fascinating though casual lectures, and his own experiences both as a Canadian citizen and a public health PhD bring an interesting set of new perspectives on criminology. Highly recommended!

GO TO CLASS and dont the book that he didnt write. Your only tested on the book he wrote, what he says in class, and journals he puts on moodle. I advise going to the study sessions you can basically get exactly what he wants you to write for the essays if you ask the right questions.

Likes to hear himself talk waaaay too much. Not a boring prof, but things got very monotonous. I agree with the rater below, his essay expectations are usually very specific despite vague questions. Easy grader though.

Total example of what you want your professor not to be. He is rude, arrogant, and defensive when you ask question. Imposes his views on you. Goes out of his way to show how smart he is, and how dumb you are, rather than try to teach. Plays favorites with a few students.

he is a very funny teacher, as long as you come to class and read the lecture notes andyou will do fine. His grading system is pretty easy and you never fall asleep in his class. He tells u what going to be on a quiz and an exam. It's an essay exam so u have to be detailed in ur answers.

First off, all essay tests. I wouldn't complain with that, save for the fact that he writes very broad questions and wants very detailed answers. You basically have to guess what he's asking. He's definitely not a 1001 type teacher. Maybe other classes, but not intro.
