Professor Belyakov is a true Gem. If you are thinking about taking an English elective, this would be it!! This course integrates an Education and English curriculum as you learn to teach to ESL students here at Geneseo. You form part of the Study Buddies Program and it is such a great experience. Be prepared to read chapters each week & work hard!

I took this class out of interest of the Speech Buddy program and I can say that it is definitely an awesome experience. You have to be very committed as this class does take up much of your time, but it's an easy A if you do all the work that is asked of you. She's a lovely lady and is always willing to help!

TAKE THIS CLASS. The speech buddy program is a wonderful opportunity for anyone, regardless of major. Professor B is such a sweet lady, and I couldn't think of a better person to be running this program. It's what you do outside of the class that matters most.

She makes things look much easier than the text-book. Never said no to post/pre class doubt asking. Overall a very good professor and in fact one of the best in the department. Just one negative, she might get a bit scattered sometimes in the class.

Dr. Belyakov is my all-time favorite Geneseo teacher -- she rocks! She's an amazing professor, she explains complicated matters in fun, easy to understand ways. She is also always willing to meet with students to help them with everything. I only wish I starting taking her classes earlier!

Very nice lady, but class is quite boring. She takes attendance every day. Tests vary in difficulty. It is helpful to read the textbook but not necessary. Go to the TA review sessions. Overall, I feel like I haven't learned much in this class, and it's part of the reason I have switched to Audiology.

Belyakov is a very, very kind lady. I don't know why people say her tests are hard... you just need to study the notes she gives you and read the parts of the books she emphasizes. She is definately better than Owens. The only thing is her notes are often jumbled so you should type them up on your own and you'll do great!

Learning a second language is not at ease. Belyakov paves the road for ESL students. She loves and respects every culture. She is such a kind hearted Professor that if you hurted her, you would feel guilty for your life. Indeed, she is pretty. Trust me, you will learn a lot from her class! >.<
