The worse professor I have ever had to take a class with, will never take another course at Hudson Community College again because of this experience. Paid almost 700+ dollars to basically be told I need to teach myself and study for 8 hours because his students at NYU are more advanced. Do yourself a favor, avoid this professor like the plague.

Comment:

Under no circumstances should you take him for Calc 3 unless you are already a genius at Calc and are ready to devote most of your time for this class. This Class was 3:30 hours long and we had no breaks in between, I will give him this though, I have never seen someone talk for 3:30 hours straight without stopping for more then 30 seconds.

This my third calculus class with Dr El-Achkar, and I am hoping to have him for differential equations next year. He is very knowlegable, fantastic lecturer very apporachable, he makes the students work very hard but you learn a lot from him.

An amazing lecturer, the man knows a lot, he never use any notes he can lecture for hours deriving theories, giving examples and challenge the students. He really loves teaching. This is my third course with him, wonderful experience

i dont know about the mixed comments but he is a very good professor, the best professor I would have to say in HCCC (due to the fact that he knows what he talking about, he knows how to teach to get students understand, and he geninunely cares about the student). he is like every professor, you get what you put in

Had him for Calc 3 over summer and so far he is the best calculus professor I've had. He is very good at explaining the material, is very willing to answer questions and is very clear about what how to get an A. Exams are straight from lectures, he wants everyone to pass. He doesn't check homework but it's great practice. Overall, you will learn!

Great Professor to learn with. He makes linear algebra look very easy and his teaching style helps him to do so. Tries to not make you bored, but the material is kinda boring. Homework is not so much, and his exams are directly related to the homework he gives. Final was relatively easier. Would love to take another Math course with him.

HE TOLD US THAT WE NEED TO DO THE DISCUSSIONS DAILY, BUT THERE WEREN'T ANY PUT UP IN THE BEGINNING. BE CAREFUL HE IS THE TOUGHEST GRADER I'VE EVER HAD. I WILL NEVER TAKE HIS CLASS AGAIN. I PASSED ALL MY OTHER CLASSES EXCEPT HIS. HE DOESN'T EMAIL YOU TO TELL WHY YOU FAILED TESTS AND HOMEWORK LIKE A GOOD ONLINE PROFESSOR SHOULD.... BE VERY CAREFUL!!

Amazing, amazing professor. I took calculus 3 with him. Now I feel like I am pro in calculus. His lactures are amazing. Whatever he teaches in class, exams come from it. He has great knowledge. He not only explains theories but also provides examples of them. He never comes late and holds the entire lactures. 5 out of 5 stars.

By far the best professor I've ever had. I've had him for 3 courses and plan on taking a fourth with him. Extremely knowledgeable, two masters, a PHD from NYU, and most importantly I have yet to meet another professor who can translate the knowledge from his brain to something students can understand like he can.

By far the best professor I have ever had, I've taken his classes four different times. He is tough, but in terms of knowing the material and being able to translate the knowledge from his brain into something the students can understand he is undoubtedly the best. If you want to learn and develop skills for the future take El-Achkar.

An amazing and exemplary professor! You will need to have a solid foundation if you wish to do well in his calculus courses. He is extremely fair and objective with his grading. His exam questions are like the textbook questions, so make sure you use the book!

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!! He makes work continuously the whole semester, you will learn a lot. He is really amazing how he can teach Calculus III the whole semester with any note or referring to the book, he should write his own calculus book. That was my third course with Dr. El-Achkar, and I would love to take every course he teaches
