Loved the man, the class changed my life! I will never forget the repetition and rhythm that made listening to him fascinating; it makes you self conscious. Not just on his ridiculously hard papers. No one has the whole story and "context is everything in determining meaning!!"

A ****! Enough said! Arrogant, rude, thinks very highly of himself, acts like students are all trash! Save your time and money! He is not worth it, I garantee you will end up dropping. Look, he is really smart. He is, but the attitude and the word vomit he calls lectures is just too much! If you take his class, have fun writing a 20 page midterm!

I understand the way Dr. Brady can be perceived as arrogant and strict. However, he will challenge you, relate to you, and make you see yourself and the world in a brand new way through anthropology. If you are a student looking to coast, see ya'. If you actually want to get your $s worth, take a course, work at it, and see who you are in the end.

Some people say he's an arrogant jerk that just gives off an "I'm smarter and more experienced than all of you put together" pheromone. The fact is, HE IS!!! He's a genius in my opinion. His tests have absoultely NOTHING to do with lectures, but that's fine because his lectures make you think about the world you're living in. He's in the book!!

GREAT PROFESSOR - Dr. Brady is an excellent teacher if you're willing to learn. His substance is not difficult to comprehend if you listen to what he's talking about. I barely read for the class and passed with a B. His test's are all in his lectures. It's not rocket science, it's anthropology. GREAT PROFESSOR!

He is awesome. His class is very difficult and he does not talk about what we are tested on; if we want to pass his test, we need to read the book on our own time. He is more interested in making sure we leave his class with a different look at the world, a more open minded and critical view, instead of taking the world for granted. Take his class!

He is TERRIBLE. His lectures are so hard to follow and all he does is make you watch movies with people running around naked. Attendence is mandatory and the tests are real hard. Don't take this class!

he is by far the worst professor i've had at oswego. the worst part about the class was i could not understand anything he was saying. not like i couldnt understand the material being presented i literally could not make out the words that he was saying. save yourself a lot of trouble and do not take this class with professor brady.

Dr. Brady is a disaster to students! He just talks forever and you can't understand wtf he's even saying, then you get to spend 1/2 your life reading just to do bad on the exams anyway. Also, don't miss any classes cuz if you miss 2, you drop A FULL LETTER GRADE, and 3 you fail the class!!!! don't waste your life on this class

Do not take ANT344 with Ivan Brady unless you love learning about language - because you will hate it by the end of this class. Tests are ridiculously hard essays, lectures are tedious, he mumbles and this is a bigger problem than you probably assume, and expect to do a ton of reading for this class. and Ant 401. Very difficult material is covered but somehow he ties it together with our lives. DO NOT EXPECT AN EASY A. He will make you work for it and his online classes are just as hard. One teacher who truely makes you do college level work and expects and accepts nothing less. But he's blunt about that, and quite fun.

Professor rambles on about BS, very difficult to understand what point he is trying to make, is just unclear in general. Tests are too difficult for 100 level class and also cover way too much material. Like 6 chapters on the first test, 7 chapters on the second, and only 3 chapters on the final....wtf is up with that???

One of the worst professors I've had up here at Oswego. He talks about BS that has no connection with the course. HORRIBLE teacher, I pretty much had to teach myself everything from the textbook. TON of reading- don't take this class if you are bad at reading. Just save yourself from misery and boredom and take Anthro with a different professor.
