He was really overrated. Tried to tell me to leave his program, I refused and worked thru the cliques. Graduated with B's and I'm not a successful designer no thanks to j.Charles and crew. Little emphasis on programs was a big problem with the program. I wasted a small fortune on printing out nonsense projects.

Kept a clique of students he liked--all others need not apply. Went socializing with them. Acted like he was doing you a big favor just to answer a question. Walked around art building at KSU like he was GOD--extremely arrogant. Could be very mean-not a good environment in which to learn and develop.

Charles was a great teacher and great leader in the program at Kent. Most people don't realize how good they had it and how well prepared they'd be until they left. For all of you who couldn't cut it in his program, you sure missed out and it seems you know it.

He knew nothing about me but told me to switch majors because I have absolutely no chance in making it in Graphic Design. Maybe I am not the best student, but seriously. Not helpful at all.

j. Charles (is that little j just so pretentious or what?) does not care about his students--only the program rep, as someone said. I graduated 15 yrs ago and am a successful art director--he said I wouldnt make it. Guess he was wrong!
