Some points are based on speaking up in class, which I never did so I lost points for that. Occasionally, he would have pop-ish quizzes over what we were supposed to read before class. They weren't hard at all, if you read the basics. I hardly read, but did well on those, and learned the rest during lecture. The tests are a little hard.

Informative class, interesting material. LOTS of reading. (I had to buy 4 books for the class.) You turn in notes almost every class from either readings, films, or both. There are only two essays, and the midterm & final (both are essay tests). Not lecture based, but his lectures help you understand what you read.

Easy class. He literally throws the A at you. Tests are a joke. Twenty questions, multiple choice. He takes the exact test from MyReligionLab. Essays are easy. Like all other college classes, this one requires you to show up and do a little (I really mean a little) work.

Dry Lectures, but does his best to relate it to the students. Good guy overall. One negative is participation points so if you do not like to speak up there goes 5% of your grade. Tests questions are basically given to you before hand. Each test has multiple choice and essay. Fairly easy class.

The class is so easy. If you show up, take notes, and study a little for your tests you will get an A. Buy the access code only and then search through the text online to find answers to the multiple choice questions for the test. I don't like him as a professor though. Lectures are all over the place so bring a laptop so you can skip around.

HE IS A HARD TEACHER. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CLASS FOR A FIRST SEMESTER FRESHMAN. YES, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS OFFICE HOURS AND STUDY REALLY HARD FOR THE TEST. HE DOESN'T DO ANY EXTRA CREDIT AND IT'S ALL TEST. STUDY AND YOU WILL BE FINE. JUST BE NICE TO HIM AND PARTICIPATE IN CLASS, IT HELPS YOUR GRADE. I STRUGGLED ,BUT I FOUGHT THROUGH IT.

He does give out pop quizzes on the reading but they're only 1 point each. He's very specific on instructions and always reminds the class, which is nice. Expect a lot of reading.

His grading scale can be a bit confusing even though he is trying to simplify it. I missed receiving a solid A by 0.2%. He will not round your grade. He is a tough grader on the papers assigned. The expectations on the last reflective essay are not clear. I answered all the questions and thought I did well but ended up with a low B on it.

REL 210 shouldn't be taken for an easy gen ed A. There are much easier courses under the cultural competence section. To be successful at all in this class you'll need to study quite a bit. It's very interesting though if you enjoy learning about different cultures and lifestyles. Dr. Llewellyn is a pretty coolnice man. Show up to class.

He is very informative and is open to questions which makes the lectures not feel long. The reading is important because you have to write essays on it for the exams and sometimes have in-class questions. The exams are also 50% multiple choice that are pulled directly off MyReligionLab so if you do the practice exams you'll know all the questions.

I was not impressed with this teacher at all. Passed with a 89.9% and was very unhappy that a B+ went into my GPA instead of rounding up to an A. His lectures were fairly interactive, though. A lot of book use. Take the MyReligionLab practice exams, they're very helpful. As far as him being helpful, eh.. Not really. Sometimes he was.

A lot of reading, but if you attempt to read and then go to class the next time, it isn't bad. He does over everything pretty well. He wants his students to succeed, even changed format of tests so we'd score higher. Text book is used for tests, and if he has the myreligionlab, i'd use it, easiest way to study for multiple choice.

We used many religious primary sources to explore world religions: Bible, Koran, Analects, Daodejing, Bhagavad Gita, etc. The main textbook was used for tests but not discussion. Interact with the material so you can ask good questions, study according to his possible essay questions and you'll do well. It's hard if you're not used to reading much.

He is a very nice and funny person. Quite intelligent. His grading scale is really difficult, though. His lecture is all verbal and that is difficult for me. In class writing assignments are given frequently, so go to class. This class relies heavily on the textbook.

He could be great, but his grading scale is just insane. I got a B in the entire class just because I got a B on one paper even thought I got an A on every other paper/test/assignment in the class. He does ask for face-to-face feedback though and we discussed the problem with the grading, so maybe it will improve in the future.

Dr. Llewellyn is nice and is very knowledgeable. The thing that was hard about his class was that his lectures are all verbal, no powerpoint. Some of the readings are dry and boring and hard to understand. It's not a hard class, but I wasn't as interested as I thought I'd be. His knowledge is quite amazing though!

I thought professor Llewellyn was a great professor. He is very tough and expects you to work for your grade, but he is completely accessible if you need help or don't explain something. He can come off as kind of rude, but I don't think he means to. But overall a great professor. I learned a lot.

Very inconsistent grader. Tests over material he refused to go over in class. Some questions asked in class are sometimes given inconsistent and incorrect answers.
