His class is the one class I actually looked forward too. It was always intersting and I hardly ever actually had to read the textbook. The tests were very easy if you attended class everyday and the papers are incredibly easy.

He says "That's a fact" at least 20 times each class period. Class period starts off with irrelevant questions which is how he does attendance. Had a difficult time staying up in class. Tests (3) are moderate and no final. Only need to do 2 papers that are easy.

Don't take Professor Bulk if you can avoid it. He is one of the most annoying people I have met. I dread starting my day with this class. He insists that many of his opinions are "fact." He barely includes students in discussion, and when he does let them talk, he consistently cuts them off so that he can finish what he thinks their thought is.

The topics you learn about during class are interesting. The teacher on the other hand, I tuned out every day. I literally brought my laptop every day and went on facebook. You have to study to do well on the tests because not everything is covered during classes.

I had Professor Bulk for my SOC 225 class and hated every day of it. A lot of valuable class time was taken up by his useless "opening questions" which included anything from him reciting poetry to where he got his aligator boots. The class was super easy to pass but I recommend getting a differant teacher.

He is a very fun person to listen to. He is a very easy grader and with only 2 tests and 3 quizzes it makes the course fairly easy. For the tests if you know the study guide, you will pass. Pay attention in class and you can pass the class without studying. VERY FUN CLASS, I would advise taking with him

There are only 2 papers and 3 tests, which is nice because there is no homework. He grades the papers easily, but the tests are difficult. His lectures are impossible to listen to because they are so boring. Essay questions on test are very hard and are about small details. However, he does give a study guide which is very helpful.

Great guy, it was the second time I've taken him. Marriage and Family was pretty much all common sense stuff except for a few terms. Attendance is not mandatory, but asks questions everyday to random people off a list. 2 papers and 3 exams, reading the book is very helpful!

Great Prof. TAKE HIM IF POSSIBLE. Loves what he does, has fun doing it. Wears a new, funky hat to class everyday. Asks "participation" questions, such as, "if you had a superpower...," etc. Easy A, very nice, makes some dry topics fun. Provides dark chocolate to those willing to brave sitting in the front row.

Excellent teacher. While attendance is not mandatory but he asks about 5 random questions to random students at the beginning of each class so if you're called and not there, you lose 2.5% of your grade (up to 5%). You don't even have to know the answer and it's usually funny questions. Wears a different hat each day and randomly tells stories.

I loved this class! I am not a soc major but had to take this class for a gen ed and a pre-req for my major. It was a very easy class with only 3 tests the entire semester and two written assignments which he grades rather easily as long as you thoroughly answer each of the questions to your ability. He gives you a study guide before each test and

I didn't like this class much. Alot of the things he talked about in class were not on the test. He went off on random tangents alot. Sure, some of his random facts were interesting, but I normally sat in class and did hw for other classes. 3 assignments a sem, they're pretty easy. Not too bad, but not my fave SOC professor.

Jac Bulk is a great professor. He is extremely knowledgable is this subject because he is the only one who has ever taught it. His lectures for the most part are not boring.Only have to wrtie two 2 page papers and take 3 tests which aren't easy, but aren't hard either because he gives you a study guide for all of them. Jac Bulk is a spectacular professor! He has so much passion and genuine interest in his topics and his lectures show this. He expects you to come to class and you get credit when he randomly calls on you twice a semester. He has funny stories, great pictures and hats! Lectures can be a little long, but he really seems to speak from the heart.
