Absolutely love him, he inspired me in so many ways and changed my life for the better. I highly recommend him as a professor, his intro to soc will open your eyes to things you never knew you were oblivious to. His class will make you a better person, and he may even change your mind from being a bio major to a soc one!

I really enjoyed taking this class. I had never taken a sociology course before, but now I would absolutely take another course (especially with Harris)! He is incredible intelligent, entertaining, and willing to help students (we visited him at home). My friends and I enjoyed the class so much we didn't mind being there at 8:35!

I'm looking to take more classes with this professor, even though his subject is completely unrelated to my major. He is smart, witty, laugh-out-loud funny (literally - you laugh your way through class). If you do most of the reading you'll be golden. He likes students who participate. 1 1/2 hours flies by at 8:35 in the morning with Harris!

amazing professor, absolute genius. he is witty, sharp, and entertaining. makes an hour and a half long class fly by. i'm a junior, and he's tied for best HWS professor with Laura Free. take this class if you have any interest in the subject (and even if you dont). its fairly graded and extremely interested.

Harris doesn't grade you on accumulation of grades, just on how much you participate. Was in a class with a group of idiots and he liked them all as they climbed ropes and talked about community with the best of them. I, shy and fearful, got a lower grade because I wasn't loving all the minutes but did ALL required work and graded myself an A.

easy class for me... read intro and conclusion of the books and still got a 96% at the end of the class. however, the material is really interesting and he's so passionate about sociology that it's definitely worth taking! AWESOME professor!
