I had Professor Hatcher for Mgmt 200 as a freshman, and then again for Tax and Audit as a senior (Accounting major). Hatcher made all of them harder than they needed to be, and rarely taught anything actually useful. I'm a CPA and tax professional in spite of his teaching, not because of it.

Jack is a brilliant man that mentored me through my college career at Purdue. Although he may be blunt and quick to point out errors, he is actually a good guy that is easy to get along with once you get to know him. Im now a tax professional and can thank him in part for my current success. Thanks Jack!

I listed has "hard" not because of the material, but because there was little connection between what he taught and what we were required to know. MGMT 200 is referred to as a "weed out" course which may explain the lack of thorough instruction. I graduated from Krannert with a strong GPA but will always remember this horrible professor.

Take this class if you want to hear about how he has his CPA every ten minutes. My thoughts: you are a professor for accounting, you had better damn well have a CPA! But apparently, he finds it a source of pride to remind you of daily.

Subject is not difficult, but the professor makes much harder than it is. Lectures are totally useless, and doesn't teach the subject well. Instead likes to grill students on HW questions, and embarrass them in class. Often deviates from the subject and talks about trivial things. The worst professor I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Tough on students because he wants you to act like professionals. Students who don't care about the classes won't like him. If you take your career serious he's the best teacher to get to know and learn from. Unfair reputation because he doesn't just hand out good grades, he'll make you earn them.

grades everyone based on a 70% scale so the assignments have to be extremely well done to get most of the points. writes tough exams with a class average of 65-68%. reading the book is a must since lectures mainly cover assigned work problems

This guy really sucks balls! Watch out for him, trust me! A friend told me he was suspicious about students copying during tests (which did not really happened), he automatically lowered everyone's grades.

had to take his class twice b/c he won't bump a grade. Very unhelpful and very boring for the time the class is 730/830 come on. Highlight of class was getting a mooning from santa. Hatchers reply "tis the season" Too many class projects tedious work for 2pts, and collecting HW forget it, he doesn't do it despite how much he says he does.

Professor Hatcher is very arrogant. He certainly isn't focused on helping students. He teaches the student as if they already know everything and "beware" if you ever ask him for help during a project.
