Comment:

Jack was very accessible via email and replied quickly & clearly when I needed his help. He also told us in detail what was going to be on the exams and provided study guides, which were lists of topics to know for multiple choice, matching and extended response questions. He didn't post updates very often, which is my only criticism.

Jack was easily one of my favorite professors! Yes, he has a dry sense of humor, which I found hysterical. (He reminds me strongly of Dr. Fever.) Intelligent, caring, very helpful and - most importantly - an effective communicator & instructor. He will push you & reasonably expects his students to be prepared and work hard,

Great Professor so nice do not hesitate to email him daily!! So helpful for me. READ THE WHAT I LEARNED THEY ARE THE ENTIRE EXAM TYPED OUT FOR YOU ON A SILVER PLATTER. You need a lot time to study for this, which is where i really lacked. Make sure to plan out time! PS: I am only a junior in high school, so if I can do it, you can as well.

I took this class online and if I had a question he would respond within a few hours or so. He wants to make sure you understand the work and if you didn't understand what he said in the first response he would try it another way. I would recommend him for a class.

Comment:

Weekly chapter assignments and very short quiz on MAL. There is a break in between the tests and the next chapter. Tests are open for a couple weeks so you can work ahead if you want. 4 tests, must be taken at testing center, mostly multiple choice with a couple work out problems. Only bad part is no partial credit on the work out problems.

I would like to say, I had a professional help me with my projects, and consistently lost 5 points on them, without any feedback. The textbook is pointless, humor and lectures were insanely boring and dry. I'd stay away from him if possible. It is just way too unclear - the class itself was obviously just thrown together.

In the syllabus he says you will need 15 hours a week for this class: he is not kidding. It's insane compared to 106/107. You have to remember EVERYTHING from 106 and do four hard projects. Not many points or extra credit. Take it by itself one quarter if you can. Not good at answering emails, will not look at projects. Class will be gone in fall.

Many student do not grasp Mr. Kochenteit's extremely dry humor. I did. I had him for 108 a few years ago. To this very day, I am very grateful for him 'throwing' us poor student to fend for ourselves and figure things out. Then and now, I realize how much I learned from him confidence, independence, pride in accomplishments, & respect for failures.

Jack needs better "in class personality". I found his lectures so intense vocally that I was exhausted listening to him. Dial it down a bit and be friendlier, maybe students would like him more. Class was harder than expected for being a readiness class for ACCT 250 and the projects were tough without EVER getting the correct answers from Jack.

He is the only teacher that teaches in class. I would not recommend him. It is a very fast pace course. Doesn't answer questions clearly so you can understand. Doesn't utilize the textbook. Only give projects and tests. No homework.

This is a very good class and he is a very good teacher, but a lot of material is covered and the class moves at a brisk pace. If you go to each class, pay attention, do the practice problems, and study his handouts you should do fine. If you do not it will be a tough class. Jack is very helpful if you ask for help.

Jack tends to get negative comments from other students but I think he is a quality instructor. He covers a lot of material but he wants his students to leave the course fully prepared for higher level classes. He is by no means easy, but you will learn a lot. Make sure you attend EVERY class is you want to pass.
