Do not skip class. Does not post material anywhere everything is hand written by him. Class was 100% exam score. Material was not usefull. Exam questions are much harder than handouts.

Koplowitz is a theory professor. He teaches at a 500 level, and tests you on things said in class. Homework is easy, lecture examples are easy but test examples are made up of the theory behind 2-3 homework problems combined (an example you haven't done before)

Tough grader I check my answers with a friend We have the same answers yet every time I get 2-4 points less on assignments. Doesn't post anything online. Makes a lot of mistakes and is always correcting himself. Went to office hours and he was not at all helpful continuously repeats during class that none of us have the prerequisites for the course

Maybe was good at some point, now makes a LOT of mistakes and is very difficult to follow, he's forever correcting himself - which is a problem doesn't use the text, gives you photocopies of hand written assignments and solutions which contain many many mistakes. Worst part is your grade is 30% ex1 & ex2, 40% final & you never know what's comin

He is a great person and is extremely intelligent. Do not expect easy exams, he expects you to come to class to get the material through to you but is very helpful with homework (walks through very similar or the same problems for all questions). One thing is to prepare very well by reading everything/office hours before the exam .

Definitely better with smaller classes. Don't hesitate to take a 4/500 level elective with him. I find him to be coherent and easy to learn from.

I attended Clarkson back in the 70's and remember Jack very well. Difficult but expected. If I had a problem he was very helpful. He would not directly give you the answer, but would instead TEACH you by leading you through what you had already learned to get you to an understanding of the soulution. I believe that is what teaching is about.

Incredibly caring, patient and methodical in his teaching style. He will clarify not only the subject matter in the course, but all the background material that you should have learned in previous classes. A great man!

Loves what he does, but you need to love it too or you won't like him. Very reasonable and flexible with office hours, due dates and exam times. Classes are very linear and logically laid out. If you pay close attention you will learn things that aren't written in textbooks, and that's what higher education is all about.

I have taken many classes with him. He does have difficulty explaining some material, but from my experience, he is a much better teacher when the class size is small. (under 10 people)I would definitely take a class from him if the class-size is small.

Has no clue what is going on. I think he's a pathological liar, too. Can't decide on a teaching method, and knows the material so well that he forgets that you don't! If you have him, you have my deepest simpathy.
