Oh my, this class was freaking booooring. I took it as a night class, for three hours, once a week. Boring material, boring prof. Somehow I passed. My advice, don't take it as a night class.

Fairly good class, be prepared for hin to correct you if your slightly off aim in an answer, and if your wrong, he will flat out tell you. Pay CLOSE ATTENTION to reading assignments, the syllibus schedual tends to change, in fact he will give you a "tentative" one and it is truly tentative. He uses blackboard alot, but if you're not sure about read

Mongomery is a truely dedicated educator. If you sit in his class like a lump and stare at him blankly how is he supposed to know you have any questions? My experience has been that he is quite responsive to questions, and that he even invites them. You take a bit of the responsibility for you education into your own hands. How unamerican.

He's a great teacher once you understand what is expected. Do not drop this class until after the 2nd test if possible. My grade improved drastically on the 2nd test. He's also willing to help if you ask for it.

Montgomery obviously has spent a lifetime on this material (late modern phil.), and it shows. He could use work on bringing it down to a level that beginners can fathom. More examples would be nice. He doesn't grade very harshly as long as you try, though. I would recommend against if you have no interest in Philosophy, for if you do.

Whew, well, he's smart, that is for sure... consider yourself warned. This class continues to be harder than I ever expected. Maybe he is a genius at this material and should teach the highest levels, because as a PHI beginner, I am treading! Interesting, Write fast.

This class is EXCRUCIATING to sit through. It is more of a lit. class than anything else. We spent 7hrs on a 56 pg play. He doesn't want to hear anything a student has to say, he just likes to hear himself talk. Even when you do participate, you're wrong! I took other philosophy classes and loved them...this man is an egocentric tree hugging hippy!

Excellent professor. Unlike many philosophy teachers, he calls only on students that raise their hands. His tests can be hard at times, but you just need to read the material. He's there for your assistance if you need him. I would say he was my best philosophy teacher.

Nice guy, he's very well-read and knows his subject. He can be a little unclear at times, but if you tell him you don't understand something, he'll give a better explanation.

Comment:
The instructor may have a passion for the subject but his passion is only exceeded by his arrogance and condescension toward students. In addition, his explanations of the subject leave a lot to be desired.
