I like professor Mottley a lot. He's super friendly and easy to talk to, always willing to help. His lectures can get a little messy but he'll go above and beyond to make sure you understand. I recommend attending to recitations where you can ask any questions and you can get more one on one.

Mottley taught my 111 class in a "flipped-classroom" style at times, but most of the year was just him lecturing. If you put in a decent effort you're likely to do very well! Mottley says he likes to challenge students with hw assignments, so he made the tests very straight forward.

Professor Mottley (as monotonous as he is) is very helpful and clear. He knows and loves what he's doing with circuits so he's always willing to help. The homeworks, labs, workshops and tests all match up to complete one another but they are very difficult so study hard and you'll be fine.

Mottley taught ECE 111 very well. It's a fundamentals class, and Mottley gave students a strong foundation to build more ECE knowledge on. Students were well prepared for exams, which had material on them consistent with the homeworks, labs, and lectures -- something which is rare and underappreciated by students often. Well done, Jack.

Lectures are boring and don't provide enough examples for you to even start the homework problems. Workshops are somewhat beneficial at best and the labs are pointless. I barely learned anything in this class. Mottley is a nice enough guy, but he lacks teaching skills. After taking this class I still have little idea about how a circuit works.

ECE 101 is a simple class that's just following directions from a provided book or packet and building robots while programming with VHDL. It's a really fun class that'll get you into ECE. Sometimes Mottley teaches the class basics, and it's always very clear. He grades very kindly and helps you readily. He's also fairly likeable to chat with.

This was my least attended class in my history. He is a terrible teacher, no organization, no enthusiasm, terrible TA's, confusing labs. This class should be extremely easy, but it becomes difficult because of the lack of support of material (hw doesn't support lecture, labs are confusing, lectures are pointless)

Very nice guy, but bad professor. Lectures are boring and don't help with the homework at all. However, if you email him that you are having trouble with a specific homework problem, he will usually do it for you in class. You should go to workshop; that's where I learned most of the material.

The tests are nearly exactly the same as previous years. Labs suck but they are easy. You will leave the class thinking that you learned very little but will find that you learned more than you thought.

HW are sometimes pointless, and lectures are fairly boring, expect to take 40 mins writing notes to have him tell you you only need to remember one small equation at the end. Nice guy to talk to.

pointless homework that didn't match tests, awful labs, poorly chosen TAs, boring guy. stresses professionalism when he doesn't even follow half of what the syllabus says, and in general holds a really boring, difficult course.
