It's Calc II guys, did you really expect it to be easy? It's not exactly an elective course. If you took the class you probably needed it for your major and if you failed it, you should probably consider a different career. James was an awesome instructor, very enthusiastic and helpful. I wish I'd had him for Calc III too.

Mr. Ascher teaches directly from the book, it is true, yet illuminates this material even on the otherwise dark chalkboard, in a way that indicates the presence of perspicacity and engrosses (Archaic?) the witness, leading him or her to ponder such riddles as those posed by fishermen to Homer, and which can inflict a mortal chagrin.

He teaches straight from the book as everyone says, but if you do ask quesions, he more than willing to answer then, and he can be quite insightful. His teasts are amazingly hard and it was only by the sheerest luck that I was asble to get an A. His questions only slightly mirror those in the book, and he seems to like giving out hard questions.

Okay..so this guy is absolutely horrible. He's a nice enough person, but he taught straight from the book and there was no reason to go to the class. I got a high A in calc I and had to drop his class; when I took Calc II over the summer I got an 'A' and it had nothing to do with me 'already knowing the material' He should NOT be teaching!

Worst math teacher I have ever had.Doesnt teach, reads from the book, with impossible test questions that he gets outta nowhere.Got straight A's first and second semester minus the fact that i had to withdrawl from this class..I think that should tell you how horrible of a teacher he was.BADTEACHER!

Thinking over it, James is the best math teacher I've ever had the joy of experiening. His capability with the subject is amazing. If you're actually interesting in learning the material, and not a f'cktard, then you'll have no problems with his course. James is a credit to the math department.

James is a wonderful teacher - enthusiastic, well-spoken,with an ability to elucidate mathematics, the like of which has never been seen. And there are, to my knowledge, thirteen students left in the class.

James is the best TA ever. This class was great because he taught it. If you didn't do well/like it, you are clearly stupid. Very stupid. You should probably be spayed/neutered to prevent you spreading your flawed intelligence. I said spayed/neutered, because you obvioulsy have the mind of a dog.

Horrible teacher. Teaches straight from the book with the same examples. Not even worth going to class. Out of the 30 kids taking the class 20 of them dropped it. This is basically the worst teacher I have ever had. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Mr. Ascher managed to turn Calculus II into hell for me and the remaining 10 survivors. Calculus II is not supposed to be a terribly hard subject, yet our class averages on the first 2 exams were in the 50's. His test questions were excessively difficult, and he graded ruthlessly.Avoid at all costs.

Ascher is a really enthusiatic and nice guy. MGF isn't too hard of a class; however, I don't recommend taking it over the summer. Also, prepare for the tests, they can get kind of tricky.

Ascher is definitely the best TA I've had at UF. He's very approachable and enthusiastic (which helps, because MGF isn't exactly the most exciting course ever). I have some great quotes from that class... he's hilarious. And, I agree...easy on the eyes.

Ascher is a pretty good teacher, but then again this is probably the easiest math class offered at UF. As mentioned above he has some of the funniest mannerisms you will ever find.

James is the best math TA ever. He explains everything and is willing to help with any problem a student may have. He is really funny and easy to talk to. I recommend getting James as your TA and he's cute too!
