Children's literature was very dull and boring. The lectures are so long and half the time it's hard to pay attention. He's a nice professor and really cares however it's not as fun or interesting as I thought it was going to be. 2 papers, online posts for HW and 2 tests (midterm and final). Tests are difficult, but manageable.

Gotta admit, you are going to slug through these readings. You get quite a few papers and it can be a bit boring. It's a lot of early literature about explorers, it's hard to get through. Can be funny at times. The tests are pretty long but all these classes have long tests. Tests are essay and short answers.

Professor Bond is a super nice man. He is very passionate about the subject, I do however think he could have done a better job picking out interesting reading material and essay topics. The topics that were picked out were very dry and very tedious to read and write about.

Dr. Bond is a very helpful and caring professor. I would have liked the class better if we had more interesting and relavent books. Otherwise, he grades fairly easy on papers though his Midterm and Final exams can be difficult if you have not read or paid attention in class. If you come and talk to him, he can help revive a mediocre grade.

Dr. Bond is one of the greatest professors I've ever had at Cal Lu. He truly enjoys the content he teaches and really just wants his students to understand and enjoy the content as well. There are a lot of writing assignments, but if you really try and incorporate his input into your writing you'll do completely fine.

Dr. Bond is a very helpful, intelligent, and kind human being. I enjoyed his class very much and I would highly recommend him to any student. If you pay attention in class and ask questions he will see that you are trying and grade easier. If you show up and put fourth the effort you will pass.

nice person, loved him until he showed how he loves A students way more than the others. Believes B range students can never get A. He teaches well, some students love him. I'm not trying to make him look bad but he's my nightmare personally. He might meant well saying those words to me, but forgot about how words can do damage if not careful.

Unless you TRULY care about kids enough to make it your whole career avoid his class. Nice teacher but boring, and you have to buy 5-6 books that you use for a week then don't use. If you miss more than twice hel drop you. class is super repetitive so it hard to stay focused

I was fortuunate to have several classes with Dr. Bond and I found his instruction methods to be helpful. He spent a lot of time with me in his office and I found him to be inspirational. He is old fashioned as far as formalities are concerned. Therefore, respect goes a long way with him as well as a general interest to learn.

One of the best professors I have ever had. Children's Literature helped me understand books and reading in new ways. The chosen texts were always presented in a cultural frame, and students were asked to participate actively in discussions. For those who want to learn, this class is a must have. Lectures were helpful and gave important info.

Prof. Bond is a truly great teacher who puts what he studies into practice. His classes were interesting and fueled by discussion that was led mainly by us and directed, incredibly well, by him. I just took the final and I was the first time I felt a professor was tested for understanding rather than rand om details or things like that. Thumbs up!

He genuinely cares about his students. He also knows how to make books interesting, even if it is a book the class isn't interested in. He demands a lot of reading and writing, but it pays off in terms of what you learn. Students who expect to not attend his class should choose another class.

Dr. Bond is by far the best teacher I have had at CLU. His knowledge about elementary and secondary education is tops. I have taken three classes with him, and I credit his classes to my success at CLU. His American Lit class is the best. Take him if you are willing to work hard. You won't regret it.

African-American Lit. class is super interesting. Great books! Bond is great until you piss him off...he gets mad when people don't come to class or leave to go to the bathroom or talk in class. He's passionate, a little too much about sexual subjects. Tests/Quizes are very detailed, easy paper grader. Thought for sure I had an A, he gave me a B+
