Loved this class much more than I thought I would. Borland is articulate funny erudite and a nice man. Lectures were interesting and even entertaining in a good way.

I took this class as an elective that fit into my schedule. It was my last class at TC. I guess I saved the best for last. Borland is articulate, very witty, passionate about issues in his field, and amazingly knowledgeable about virtually any topic that comes up. Take a classx with him. You don't have to care about "gifted education."

He is an asset to Teachers College, a wonderful person and a fantastic teacher! I think he is one of the Professors who give Columbia its name. I hope he does not leave as other excellent professors have. He is worth every penny of all the savings I've used to attend TC. Thank you, Professor Borland. I've learned a lot in your class!

I took this course because it fit my schedule. I'm really glad I did. Borland is sooo funny and articulate and he knowsuy too. a lot about nearly everything. His lectures were interesting and he cares about education and social justice. He uses anecdotes and research to make his points. He's the smartest professor I have had at TC. Nice g

Brilliant, dry sense of humor, extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Borland wastes no time - you get what you came for and you're on your way. He doesn't cave in to popular sentiment - he sticks to what is KNOWN not just what is FELT!

Lectures covered exactly what was in the reading; I stopped doing the reading. He was a pretty vibrant lecturer, although some of the material leant itself to discussion and he never used them, even in our small class.
