Try to do well on the quizzes because he doesnt actually grade your labs. The lab directions are vague and he doesnt really try to help you understand them better (be prepared to restart labs if you mess up ��). Ok person, bad professor.

I would not recommend taking a class with this professor. He is arrogant and makes statements he shouldn't. He also comes across as a liar. He poorly explains everything and uses terms above the students' heads and discusses medicine more than the material. I hate that I have to take him again.

He goes so fast in lecture it's impossible to get all the info you need. He's nice enough, but picks favorites, often time ignoring some students over others. Tests are passable, lectures are interesting (he tells a lot of stories), and he doesn't try to trip you up. Solid prof.

Comment:

Cosentino is great for lab. He's a nice, funny guy who doesn't expect too much other than students read and prepare for the weekly quiz (typically 3-7 questions, but it's literally ALL in the reading, which can range from 2-20 pages.) Very intelligent and traveled guy with some great stories. Definitely recommend him, and I hated Bio.

Comment:

He talks really fast and expects you to take notes for the quiz/exam. He is very rude to some students sometimes and he thinks he is being funny. He needs to slow down and watch what he says before he says it. If he does that, then he will be much better. However, most professors do not really care to change, so I doubt he will too.

Lab with Dr. Cosentino is different. We do parts of the labs, but often don't do it all or he skips parts- so that's nice! But it is a tough course! Have "quizzes" every week that are hard - but he gives you what they are going to be on so you can prepare. He tells many stories in class (repetitive) and is very liberal! Very nice and personable

He goes through material very fast, and tells a lot of unrelated stories. Very off topic and hard to follow, but entertaining. Lab was terrible, take with a very light load, or avoid if possible. If you don't agree with him on personal things, he's very degrading toward you.

You definitely need to put effort into this class. He goes through material really fast and makes it sound like the class is going to be terrible at the beginning. If you highlight the book and then study for exams, you'll be fine. Once people drop the class he's a lot nicer. If you have him for lab, study for the quizzes! You can pass!

He can seem very rude and arrogant at first, but once the class get's smaller (due to drop outs) he's very nice. He's GREAT in lab. Tests tend to be very hard, I highly suggest typing notes (he goes fast), and reading through the textbook often. He tells you what will be on your lab quizzes so take advantage of it!

I can honestly say he has been one of the worst professors i've had thus far. He's very rude and degrading and has no interest in seeing the class succeed! PLEASE AVOID TAKING THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER. He is terrible! I get As and Bs in my classes and I could not, no matter how much I studied, do well with this teacher. Also, when I withdraw, he asked me what my SAT/ACT scores were. :/ Avoid this teacher.

Dr. Cosentino spent more time talking about his sexual fantasies than teaching Biology. When ever I would go to see him during his office hours, he would never be there. I do not recommend this course with him.
