He may know the material well, but the way he presents them is disorganized. No one seems to know what's going on during his lecture.

Doesn't follow a course schedule, skips homework-relevant information, publicly calls out students and makes fun of them by trying to make jokes. Failed my first exam, started attending other professors' lecture blocks.

I learned calculus 2 from James Curry's lectures and I found them pretty focused with a little bit of comedy. His lectures are well planned and he's an artist infront of a chalkboard.

Comment:
Curry tries to be relatable at the expense of the content clarity. His lectures have little to no organization as he skips from chalkboard to chalkboard in no particular order. Professor Curry will purposely write wrong equations on the board and leave them to only be changed if a student notices, which, in my experience doesn't happen often.

He is one of the most amazing professors. He makes the class funny and helpful. But, you need to be prepared before the class because it goes really fast.

Curry is there more for the entertaining of his students versus the actual teaching. He is confusing, goes way too fast, & makes a point to embarrass kids. Do not take him for a first year math class.

One of the weirdest/worst professors I've ever had. More interested in being "funny" than teaching calculus and helping students understand the material. I started going to other professors lectures after the first exam, and learned so much more. The class in general is pretty hard, but set yourself up to do well with another professor.

Curry is more interested in entertaining students than teaching. He makes things way more confusing than they need to be. I recommend not going to his class if you're not 100% solid in Calculus. Go to Murray Cox or Anne Dougherty or Silva Chang.

Now about half way through the semester only about half the class shows up to lecture, the other half, including myself is attending other Professor's lectures. What really sends me off is his style, he's all over the place. I've taken and received AP credit for Calc 2, and am currently struggling through his class. I would recommend someone else.

He's a funny professor, but down right makes no sense most of the time. He teaches like he expects you to already know the material and leaves many questions unsolved. The only time he made sense was in the review lectures. If you are taking his class, speak up and participate or he won't teach you anything.

Best teacher I had at CU! Went to his office hours several times for help. Once he spent two hours making sure not only that I understood the current material, but how it was going to apply to what we were covering next -- so I could keep up in class with what he was talking about.
