Dr. Fabrey is such an understanding guy and you're lucky if you get a chance to take one of his classes. He WILL work with you and spend time with you if you reach out, despite being the department head. His class was very easy because you know exactly what to expect. WCU is lucky to have him!

Dr. Fabrey's intro class was exactly what I anticipated. Attendance is mandatory, it is lecture heavy, and there are several projects. It was an easy enough class - I did pretty poorly on exams and still passed with an A. I would recommend him to anyone needing a gen. ed science requirement.

I took Professor Fabrey for Data Structures and Algorithms. The pros: He's a fair grader, he'll make time for you out of class, and he has access to Doctor Wyatt's notes which are an amazing resource. The cons: Assigned seating in his class and his voice is pretty monotone so you need to really focus your attention during class.

Comment:
Prof. Fabrey is the head of the department and idk how he got there. He's the oldest professor I've ever had and he's teaching computer science. He can't relate to anything he's teaching other than referring to technology at west chester from the 80's. He constantly talks about his tablet because he doesn't know about smart phones. VERY outdated.

I had Dr. Fabrey for 141 and loved him, but I knew the material. Since 241 is a much harder class you depend on the teacher much more. I found Dr. Fabreys monotone lectures impossible to pay attention to, and his teaching style lack luster. He will read pre written answers line by line rather than explaining. Be prepared to self teach the material.

I love Dr. Fabrey. He is one of the most accessible and caring professors in the computer science department; he understands that things happen and we are only human (flexible on due dates). That being said his lectures are monotone and nearly impossible to pay attention to. Be prepared to self teach because you couldn't pay attention.

Very boring, stuck in the stone age and still uses internet explorer, Material taught in class does not help you on tests, his tests are all open computer, notes and book.. Tests are all based on practice problems. Very attractive teacher however

He takes attendance every day. But every class he just reads from the textbook on the screen. Really boring.

I love Dr. Fabrey. I understand he is extremely monotone but he is a good teacher if you pay attention, which again I kind of understand that is hard as well. He gives great examples for programs and is willing to help you as much as is reasonable. Plus as a bonus he is a character. He has the greatest sayings and it makes the class so enjoyable

He is very monotone and boring but he knows what he's doing. Goto class and you will learn everything you need. He teaches a lot in examples so pay attention. Tests are open book and notes so very easy to pass and he is VERY willing to help you as long as you goto his office hours and talk .

I taught myself Java, not Dr. Fabrey. He reads from the book on the projector daily. Still uses Internet Explorer. Rarely codes in class, and uses code from 1991. You can submit your hw early multiple times, but he won't grade it until 1hr before it's due. He teaches too many comp sci courses, thus is the reason I left WCU. Nothing positive to say.

Dr. Fabrey is a really nice guy, but horribly boring. The class is based off five projects, a midterm, and a final. I know the class average for the final was a 47, so as you can tell, he wasn't the best teacher. However, the projects are easy 90-100s. I emailed him asking for a grade boost and he gave me a B- instead of a C+.

Probably one of the worst classes I've ever taken. He is extremely nice and clearly knows what he is doing. However, he stands in front of the class and monotonously reads you the textbook. I do not recommend his class to anyone who has never taken a computer sci. class before. You need the textbook for assignments. Be prepared to fall asleep.

honesty...he puts you to sleep in class. His lectures are super boring but he is a very nice guy and extremely helpful on projects. He is a very easy grader too and if you do your work, it's an easy A and you will end up learning quite a lot from the projects.

First - people say he's nice. He was purposely rude to me on more than one occasion. His jokes are either lame, or hurtful, depending on whether he is making personal attacks that day. Teaching - he would hand out a program and read from it for a class. Class wasn't hard if you read the book but he was useless and annoying.

SOO NICE!!! i am not at all interested in the class, i just took it to fill in my gen eds. yet he made it very easy to follow along. defiantly take him!!! tests are hard because its hard material, yet he gives a HUGE curve after each one! and the labs make up for low test grades, and he helps you on it! would take again!!! VERY NICE!
