Comment:

Dr. Hartigan is one of the best professors I've ever had. During the first few lectures he tries to act as nuts as possible to scare students off, don't get scared off. He tells crazy stories that are hilarious. He's a pretty tough grader but places a huge curve on the class. Gotta go to class, everything you need is in the lecture. I Recommend.

How to succeed in Hartigan's Trade Theory: Go to EVERY class and review session (you may get surprise extra credit). Take notes word for word, if possible. Do all the HW assignments. They don't look like much, but those points were my salvation. Lastly, use past exams to study, as he often reuses concepts. Lastly, sit back & enjoy. He's hilarious.

Worst professor I have ever had. There is a difference between being challenging and unnecessarily confusing and ambiguous. I am a smart student, but this class is ridiculous. It doesn't test your intellect, but your ability to figure out the professor. Nice guy. Harsh, but nice. Please avoid him at all costs and don't take his classes.

Game Theory with him is great. His teaching is eccentric but effective and he keeps things interesting with a bizarre sense of humor. The competitive grading scheme really isn't anything to worry about. Tests make you think but if you pay attention in class and take good notes it isn't bad.

So interesting, loved his Micro class this semester. Interesting grading scale, but don't fret, it will all work out. He is not as hard as his rating indicates. Most interesting professor I have had at OU. He managed to make a subject that does not interest me into my most fascinating class. Good dude.

Dr. Hartigan has a horrible, cynical attitude about everything. He discourages students helping other students by making grades a competition. You are competing for a certain number of A's, B's, etc. He is Duke educated and from the northeast.........and it shows. He's very smart, but very hard and mean. ECON MAJORS: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Dr. Hartigan is mean-spirited, has a bad attitude and a RIDICULOUS grading policy. He believes in competition so everything is graded relatively. He complains, whines, and drones on and on about how much he hates Oklahoma. He is incredibly cynical and sarcastic about OU. He does not like being here! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Trust me.

He is a teacher that is demanding. You will need to take detailed notes and STUDY for the tests. Only four questions per test, no room for error. He will conduct review sessions and help anyone who takes time to ask. I enjoyed his class.

For an Econ Micro class it is way too hard. Micro shouldn't be getting in to derivatives and such. Save it for higher-level econ. He gives everyone a hard time for no reason...get over it...we're just taking the class to graduate: not to be an economist
