Dr. Horvitz is a really nice guy, classes are easy, but not very enjoyable. He teaches in a dry manner. Tests are pretty standard, he gives you all the notes you need to take down in class, textbook not needed. Gives you extra credit on final grade if you don't miss many classes. I'd take him again, preferably not at 8 am again...

Such a nice guy, he makes an 8am class interesting and worth attending. Tests are a bit hard but he gives a study guide and pretest ahead of time to study. Take this class if your a psych major or just interested in the topic. its worth it!

This professor has a different style of teaching. It is the art of teaching with-out teaching. Unorganized, boring. To many open discussions. You really start to hate your class mates after a while, he allows people to ramble-on. I think that all the nuts at BSC are in my class. Take it at your own risk. You will pass but it is a long semester

He's just alright. The entire lecture is power point and boring as hell, but the workload is very light. Don't study for tests off the study guide, read the book and power points. And don't bother emailing him if you need to get in touch with him, he doesn't check it.

I recommend Dr Horvitz. Gives 4 exams drops the lowest grade. Reaction paper and extra credit if you have good attendance. Posts everything on blackboard including powerpoints, study guides, and practice exams. Make sure you study the powerpoints, studyguides, and practice exams because most of it is from there.

Don't take this guy for a night class. Waste of time and money. Completely unprepared for class. Open book exams. Class presentations on what he doesn't feel like teaching and we usually get out 1-1.5 hours early. not worth the extra night class fee. Goes on a lot of tangents and is hard to follow. Easy A i think, but im not really learning much.

The class is very interesting and he presents a lot of great material. 4 Exams, lowest dropped - you need to study the notes, read the text, and review his power points. There is also a short reflection paper.. pretty easy. interesting class discussion and become an open forum for discussion. He cares for his students. I do recommend this class ~C.

He is extremely boring and doesn't teach you anything. his tests are nothing like his study guides. if attendance wasn't mandatory, i probably wouldn't go to class and still have the same grade. he does post everything on blackboard which is good.

His slides are unorganized and bulleted without any clear emphasis on important points. His study guide doesn't match with what's on the test, so make sure you read the book and be prepared for topics he never actually covered in class. Also, make sure you check the questions and the answers on the test because he tends to make mistakes.

Really nice guy, tough in the morning b/c he goes until the end of class. 4 exams & drops lowest or don't take final if you have and A. Most study guide ?'s are on the exam in exactly the same way and if you go to class and look at the slides he posts (imp b/c they're sometimes different) you can get an A. Extra credit for rly good attendance.

I found Dr. Horvitz to be extremely unprofessional in the fact that he would disclose information pertaining to clients, violating their patient /client confidentiality. He would tell us stories about his clients and go on about how :crazy" the were. Disgusting.

He loves to go off in interesting tangents and class discussion tends to become an open forum for discussing personal matters.

Four exams lowest dropped, one paper on a reflection of the class, and an extra credit paper. Reads off power points, very boring, but the info is interesting. However, the book is hard to follow and the exams are tough, usually about 70 questions on a exam which is good and bad. My avg. right now is about a C+ thank god for extra credit.

Class is really boring. Just powerpoint slides that he reads very fast - does not explain well. Practice quizzes and study guide, which is a bit hard to follow. Questions are not reasonable. The study guide questions do not seem to correlate with the tests as much as the powerpoint slides.

Definatly wants the students to teach the class..Doesnt know when to shut up, sometimes the class was painful...Didnt learn much, but the class was pretty easy. Treats his night students VERY differnt than his day, usually for the worse...Oh well...Easy class if you can show up once in a while.

I absolutely loved this class! Definitely the top of my list. I don't know why he's getting bad ratings. I was very interested in the material, and the class was so easy! He knows his stuff, for the most part. He is very helpful and willing to help with anything. Definitely an easy A, and he posts everything on blackboard. Highly recommended!!!

Very unorganzied, always late, entire class is nothing but powerpoint--boring! The rest of the classes are made up of group report presentations (students have now become the teacher). Although practice test and study guides were given--a lot of the questions were based on OBSCURE facts and information in the text. Try to avoid if possible.

this is a professor that should retire. he does not teach the class as far as I was concerned with this class it should have been a web class. He is always 15 to 20 minutes late and then when he does get there still has to go back an pick things up at the office so the class never started on time. very unorganized. lousy professor
