Professor Kingsland is extremely difficult to understand, thus making it very difficult to learn during class. He is nice, but very sarcastic at times.

Comment:

Hard to understand at times, and unpredictable in the grading, but knows what he is talking about, and rewards hard work and going to class with good grades. Very enjoyable professor if you are patient and want to learn.

I was disappointed in the poor quality of this class. I can read newspaper articles on my own. This class was a waste of my time. I never even received grades on my final two essays and when I asked him about them, Kingsland never replied.

First of all you might as well not even buy the textbooks for this class considering they have nothing to do with anything. He looses students papers and is very unclear about his assignments. The class is a complete waste of time and money.

A decent professor, read a lot of newspaper articles. Didn't have many assignments, expect an easy B but have to work really hard for an A. Interesting professor with intriguing discussions.

This class was dull and I did not learn anything. We simply aruged over racial issues the entire time. The WORST thing being, he LOST MY PAPERS! I noticed he posted an I for incomplete. Turns out he did this for a lot of students. He also didn't take responsibility for his mistake. If you take this class, save your papers with the grades!!!

Do not take this class with him. It was a complete waste of my time. You do not learn anything, and the material covered isn't relevant to anything, even if you did learn something. Grades WAY too hard for a 100 level class (or a class period), and he'll just put a grade at the end of a paper without any comments on why you got that grade.

The dumbest class I have ever taken. I missed almost half the classes, and slept through the other ones. When the 7 weeks came I'd had one thing graded and had gotten an A on it, but my grade on DataVU was a B+...hmmm. He doesn't care what you turn in when though, so I didn't do anything else.

horrible waste of time. grade has nothing to do with effort or ability. all he did was hand out tons of newspaper articles to read and makes everyone say what they think only to tell them what to think. little actual material. pretends class is hard only by low balling grades. cocky and unreasonable but because he is frail no one wants to confront him. smart people should avoid.

Interesting class...but not in a good way. AFter an entire semester, I'm still not sure quite what to make of the guy. I tend to agree with others that there not much in the way of actual class material...don't bother reading the books. Also, don't take 110 if you are expecting something to do with government...it has nothing to with it at all.

Intelligent and competent, but so physically feeble that he sometimes has difficult being heard. His lesson plan seems somewhat random, and bewarned that you'll spend a good portion of the course learning about race relations rather than straight-up political science.

You *have* to work really hard in his class to succeed. Grades are few and his standards are high, but discussions are stimulating. He'll ask you a lot of questions and challenge your opinions, but doesn't expect "right" answers because most topics in class are about ethics. He really made me think.
