Only grades are his tests which contain short answers, id, and an essay question. His final was two essays questions. If you just pay attention to his lectures you will do fine. His study guides for the exams weren't super helpful for the actual exams. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you go you shouldn't have trouble passing

Dr. Lutz is a great professor with a never-ending amount of knowledge. All I can say is, this is, nor are his other classes, a class you can slack off in. He makes you work for the grade that you want. Exams are essay questions that are not given to you prior to the test, so make sure you do plenty of studying beforehand.

Be ready to work. His classes are NOT for people who want to "just get by". He is dry and can sometimes go off on tangents, but he knows his subjects. Just remember, Your're in college, so put in the effort and do the readings, form your opinions based on your research and not any preconceived notions.

His enthusiasm for US Foreign Policy is abrasive. Professor Lutz is witty, collected, and probably the greatest authority on the subject at IPFW. I chose this as my Capstone and found my passing interest in the subject transformed into something greater. Your lowest grades count for the least percentage whereas your best grades count for the most.

Worst. Professor. Ever. Highly intelligent, very capable, but will quietly lower your grade if you disagree. Mocks your opinion, well within the rules, so don't try to fight back. Especially don't write a paper that logically counters his views; he'll fail you.

Very nice guy. Writes words on board, and that is what's on the test. People think it's hard, but they just haven't figured that out. Don't let him scare you. He is pretty boring but most classes are.

Yes, dry, yes, doesn't encourage class involvement. But this was comparative politics and he would let us talk a lot about topics. He's incredibly smart and if you are willing to get involved and ask your questions and ask him again if you don't get it the first time, he will help you.

Hardest class ever in the history of ever! His montone voice mad me contemplate suicide daily. He knows a lot but for some reason does not want to help others learn it. It was like no one was in the room with him and he was talking to a mirror. He looks a lot like "Doc Brown" on back to the future.

Dr. Lutz is an excellent professor. He is very structured, helpful and knowledgeable. He has a sense of humor that is so dry you'll need to bring water. If you pay attention, he is hilarious.
