Comment:

Professor Nestor is one of the last true artists, in my opinion. I had him several years ago, and you know what? I hated the class at first. I thought he was mean. Now I understand the insight that he taught me. He does what he does for a reason. I'm grateful to have had him to inspire me.

He is a tough guy but everyone on here saying he ruins your self esteem is obviously too lazy to refine thier work and will probably kill themselves upon entering the real art world. His comments are useful and if you actually take the time to ask for his advice its pretty helpful.

He's a walking contradiction. He's very insigtful, but he makes terrible art. He talks like he's a big player, but he isn't. I've been around him long enough to not expect praise but it does keep you working harder. His overwhelming negativity about how hard it is to get into the art world is depressing. (don't let it get you down.)

I don't know how I feel about the guy. On one hand, he knows the contemporary art world really well. But robertshaw is a ****hole to work in and that's not his fault. He IS hard on people, made people cry in crits. Crazy, yeah, but he's an artist and it comes with the turf. Take his class if you want to make meaningful art, not pretty things.

One of the greatest fine arts professors I have ever encountered. Concept, Theory, Craft, he will make you a better artist. He can be a mentor, and he gives you his time. He will push you, he will make you think, he may piss you off, but not without intention. A great professor, at an under-rated school.

I had him for sculpture last spring and I'm not an artist, but he didn't make me feel inferrior like some of the art students did. He helped me grow and appreciated the sculptures I did and always was willing to help me learn new techniques when I asked. He helped a lot, and only put down those that showed they didn't care.

he is the BEST prof in the art department, and actually knows what is going on in the contemporary art world. always more than willing to help if YOU make the effort...again this isn't high school kids, you need to be responsible. if you do bad in his classes, it's YOUR fault for the following reasons: you don't go, you don't pay attention, you don't make any effort, don't care. he's the only one willing to challenge us, take it for what it's worth and quit looking for the easy A. it's that simple.

Prof. Nestor is horrible.I got a B in his class so you know I'm not saying that because of a bad grade.I think his self esteem is very low so he has to put everyone else down to make himself feel good. Criticizing art is one thing but purposely degrading students in inexcusable.Don't take this class

He is smart and knows alot about sculpture, and can teach you beyond what you would think. But he swings in and out of moods and will take his bad days out on students. This man is verbally abusive and you should take sculpture at another university. It will be well worth you money.

Nestor was hands down the best professor I ever had the priviledge of taking. He completely changed the way I looked at art and demanded great work from me. People who don't care for him must have been either lazy or produce crap art.

When I had sculpture, I was taught by his assistant, who was an awesome man. Nestor frequently came in to class, and got excited over the good projects and bashed the interior design kids' projects cos they used glitter. Prepare to get Nestorized!
