Likely the best professor I've ever had, and I've had many, many good professors. I took Dr. O'Donnell for three classes. History wasn't even my major, but his classes prepared me well for post-graduate education.

This brings back memories! 25 years ago he told me he didn't give As and I told him I didn't get Bs. With a lot of patience and perseverance on his part he survived me and I did get an A. Ignore his grumpy act though because he just does it to scare you to death. I had him then my daughter had him. He is definitely a classic!

He knows what he is talking about, but doesn't read the book. He isn't very open minded to suggestions. If you don't love history,and hate reading then don't take any of his classes. All tests/quizes are essay, so good luck

He is pretty cool and his lectures are pretty entertaining. I liked going to the class itself but the insane amounts of quizzes and exams got old. You WILL read in this class, and it is nearly impossible to get an 'A'.

This was by far the best class I've ever had. Dr. O had a way of making history fun and easy for me to understand (it was never my best subject). He was always willing to help when I was confused and checked test essays before the test and give feedback. TAKE HIS CLASS!
