Mr. Phillips was an awesome professor. I finished the class with well over 100%. I don't know why he has so many bad reviews. He takes his time in explaining concepts, and doesn't leave anyone behind. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and good reviews before tests. He's an extremely nice guy and likes to see his students do well. Take this class!

WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! im pretty sure he didnt ever give partial credit on anything which makes it almost impossible to pass the class he never gave answers to the reviews so you didnt know if you did them right and the answer to ever question was "cause i said so" i HATE him

The class wasn't hard if you put in the effort. He is very thorough in explaining everything and offers help if you ASK him. He won't hold your hand. The quizzes every day are two 2pt questions and if you do the assigned homework it isn't hard. The entire class period is given to complete reviews (which are group&extra credit) & quizzes and tests.

Seems to grade you for your speed as much as for your understanding of algebraic concepts. Don't take his class unless you are already very good at algebra and don't anticipate actually learning much in the class. If you're just hoping to learn and become better at algebra, you may do that, but you probably won't get a very good grade.

He's a good teacher, easy to understand material. You will lose points for very minor things on your paper, regardless if the answer is right or not, which makes it very hard to get a perfect grade. I've never once finished a test or quiz on time, I always have to rush. If you are good at math but require time, this isn't the class for you.

HORRIBLE. If you aren't very good at math and you are just taking Math 111 for a pre-req, take it with someone else!! He gives no time for quizzes or group work and if you aren't speedy at math you will fail everytime.

Overall a good professor. Goes through material fairly quickly in the beginning of the course but explains harder concepts more thoroughly later on. Must attend class for weekly groupwork and quizzes which is helpful in understanding material. A nice man, fairly helpful.

Very nice man. If you are slower to understand algebra, don't take him. He goes really fast and doesn't explain what he's doing. Also, you are graded on reviews & quizzes each week, and you'll get just 15 minutes to take them. If you're not a quick thinker, you'll fail everytime. The tests are very hard, and same thing, not enough time to finish.

Very nice guy. Enjoyed the class. Alittle disappointed on how long the quizzes were. I didn't feel that he gave us enough time.Wasn't that big of a deal because the grade was curved. Take him!
