Comment:

Schott is a great teacher. The tests are pretty easy, and don't cover anything he didn't teach. He recommends doing practice problems from the textbook, but they aren't required.

Most straightforward prof ever. Both classes (4321/4322) have 4 tests, about once a month, each worth 25% of your grade. Does derivations and proofs in class, but also homework problems in class. If you attend class a good amount, study the material, do some of the hw, and do well on the tests, you'll pass. Accessible during office hours. Cool dude

Awful professor, especially if you need help. Visited office hours frequently and he could care less. Some people love him but he is not for someone who struggles with math.

He's a good teacher. Lecture is strictly based on copying his PowerPoint notes; he does not put them online. He gives homework, but not for a grade, but it's a good studying tool. There are only 4 exams and a final. His tests are very similar to the examples he does in class. Study hard and review his examples.

This class is only based on 4 exam grades and a final. For each exam you get to bring a cheat sheet. The material can get a little difficult but still doable. Make sure to do and study all of the examples from lecture because they show up on the exam. The SI reviews saved my grade in this class!

Really wonderful professor. He truly wants you to succeed and will spend time with you if you go to his office hours. He is really patient as well as being knowledgable.

Schott is great. Entire class is 4 exams. Gives homework that isn't collected, but youre going to have to work to do well. Exams match the homework problems and his grading is fair. The class is difficult by nature, but he does a good job with teaching and giving the materials to succeed. I would recommend this professor for any math class.

Professor Schott is an excellent professor, and is also a fair grader. Make sure you go to class because he doesn't put Power Points online. Make sure you use the textbook to study practice questions in the back of the book. I would happily take another class of his.

Went to class about half the time and received an A. He does not send you the powerpoints so I would recommend going to class to copy them down because the tests are about the same as the questions in class with different numbers.

His tests are basically his power points. They are not online so you HAVE to go to class to get the notes. I never understood anything in class so I basically studied on my own the entire semester. His first test is 20 questions and the other 3 are 16. So you can only get 1 question wrong to keep an A. Your grade is only the exams. No extra credit.

Dr. Schott is very straightforward, and that is awesome! His exams come straight from his notes, but do come to class since he doesn't post these notes online. He's very open to questions during class, and he always gives enough time for everyone to copy down the notes. I wished more professors were like him.

Professor James is great. He cares a lot about his students. I am not good at math and I passed every one of the tests including the class. My honest advice do the homework, study his lectures and go to class you WILL NOT fail his class. He lets you use a formula sheet for every exam and two sheets on the final. I will definitely take him again!

He's very organized and is more than happy to help if you reach out. Stats Theory is tough by nature but I feel that his test were fair. Make sure you study what he goes over in test reviews. ALL OF IT. I can't imagine a better teacher for the course. Mrs. Schott was great too! What a power couple :D

There are 4 tests and a final. Each of the 4 has b/w 10-15 questions so if you miss one it counts a lot. You can use a 8.5x11 paper with anything you want on it, 2 for the final, but tests can still be hard. Do the HW, questions from there are on the test. Go to his lec b/c he does not post anything online. His PPTs are not online.

Comment:

Prof. Schott was very straightforward in his explanation of the course material and handled questions very well. He would engage the class in asking questions of the material to make sure we were following along. 100% of the grade is test based but they are not terribly difficult. He allows a formula sheet for each exam. The class is HW free! :)

You can use an 8.5x11" piece of paper with WHATEVER notes you want on it for every test. His lectures are super clear and his tests are pretty easy with examples exactly like he goes over in class. If you go to class and take good notes, you'll pass with flying colors and never need the textbook.

Grading is 4 tests (with 7-10 questions), each 25 % of final grade; so you will know exactly what you need on the final to pass the class, or if you should drop. Test questions are exactly like exercises from the book, even problems that weren't assigned show up. At least 1 proof is on each test. Schott himself has a stern appearance but he's nice.

At first he was difficult to understand. However, he takes the time to clarify when students asked. Always respectful and courteous. Tests are exactly like problems from lecture. Doing homework problems helps you get an A on the tests. No quizzes or extra credit.

Dr. Schott is very nice. You can always go to his office, and he will be happy to help you. However, the way he explains the material could be a lot better. I regret going to class. Many students, including myself, stopped going to class and just studied on our own, and saw our grades greatly improve. Go to SARC or VARC tutors instead of class.
