Well i took this class, he is very thoughful. I will drop it. The exams are in online and they are important if you fall one you will fall the semester. I pass with a 68. It is a hard class. i will never take it

Comment:

If you're thinking of taking sociology, don't. Every time I went to class, I wish I dropped it. He is the most insensitive teacher you'll ever meet. He is a very judgmental teacher when it comes to students being late or when someone to take a phone call. Not only that, but he is the most boring teacher you will ever meet. No classroom activities.

Awesome professor. Very intelligent! One of the best professors Ive had he is filled with so much knowledge and he brings joy to the class. He appreciates his students and I appreciate him for actually caring for students and their well being. His class is only tough if you dont put in the work! Read and fill in your study guides!

Comment:

Dr. Semones is the bomb. Only professor I've ever had that truly cared about me as a person and student. I love sociology and he made me love it even more. Gives a lot of bonus point chances and extra credit. Wants to see you succeed! Tests are open note. No paper assigned.

Comment:

Professor Semones is strict but great professor. You have to read and finish all the study guides in order to pass, that is besides showing up to class. Nothing comes easy so make sure to study. Make sure while doing the study guides to highlight examples for definitions or concepts. Filling out the study guides is the easiest thing in the world.

Actually enjoyed his lectures. More of a class discussion. EASY A, If you just print the study guides he gives you on blackboard ahead of time. Literally fills them out with you IN CLASS. Options for extra credit. Cool guy. Really does care. Dont miss him class though.

Took his online class, very difficult and a lot of reading. Only quizzes and tests. Quizzes and test does not have a lot of time to take them. Test with 50 questions with only an hour left, and quizzes with 30 questions with about 25 minutes.

I DO NOT recommend taking this Professor! He is very bossy & everything must be his way. His test are 65 questions with only 60 mins to complete it. The study guides do not help at all on any of the exams. He also talks so much about himself that he spends the whole class on 1 page from only 1 single chapter. Lastly, miss 3 classes & you won't pass

Everything is HIS way. Do the study guides fully, those are not graded heavily, so if you complete them and get a good grade, you will pass. Boring class, but not hard to pass.

very stubborn, his way or the high way. Not enough time on test. you have 60 minutes to do 65+ questions when there usually is more time in class. so be careful when taking the test. do all of the study guided and you will ace the finals. do well on all test and you should get good grade in class.

took this professor online, class wasn't too hard but he would post an announcement saying the test was open for a couple days... it isn't. It'll disappear and I've emailed him about it and he blamed it on my computer yet I see other reviews saying the same thing. He hates procrastinators so I guess that's his way of weeding them out...

Dr. Semones is the best lecturer I have had the pleasure of interacting with. His grading criteria is crystal-clear. Dr. Semones takes material that would be difficult to understand and illustrates it in a manner that people of all ages can relate to and comprehend. You HAVE to purchase the text book and complete study guides. Would take again.

Well I wouldn't lie to you !! .. be pre paired to read and maybe even struggle the first test if you don't like to read! This class is an challenge by far .. but this teacher is very straight forward and will work with you if you have any problems HE WILL HELP !.. If your welling to help yourself and he doesn't gives grade, you earn them.

Dr. Semones is very intelligent, does not tolerate slacking off and will always be willing to work with you as long as you put in effort as well. His lectures are super interesting, and you take 4 online tests where you use a review with the answers. He is generous and a sweetheart. Attendance is important bc he gives you a grade on it.

He talks so much about himself we hardly ever finish discussing the chapters. He needs to stop that because its not helping if your average passing grade is a C. Obviously you need to study but some concepts are so closely related you will miss it on the test since all the closely related ones end up being the answer choices.

I recommend taking someone else. He gives you 3 test that will all be online timed, so if you run out of time you get a straight ZERO. Also the questions are long and most are application questions so 65 mins is hard to work with. The class is an hour and a half, so it doesn't seem fair to be given less time to take a test.
