I took Feminist Utopias with Jan. She is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. She is a beautiful and inspiring person. As for being angry, I just say she's passionate. thats good! She helped me discover some of my interests i didn't know existed! take a class with her!!

she keeps "flagging" honest comments, so read this quickly!!! if you are a male, forget it. but even you are a well adjusted female, with a sense of humor, it is even worse. she is about as bad as it gets, and redefines "defensive."

Jan is one of the most enthusiastic and helpful professors I have had. I have had her for two classes and only wish I could take more. She does expect you to work though!
