Comment:

She is so nice and very knowledgeable of her subject field. The one thing I hated was that there are very few assignments, so if you get a bad grade on one thing you could be in big trouble. She does, however, celebrate the strength and power of women, and encourages the class to lift each other up. Lots of free creative range.

If you have an opportunity to take Dr. Gordon don't pass it up. She is a wonderful professor and you will learn so much from her class. You have to buy a "book" she put together that is about $100 but it has a lot of useful information in it. You will take 3 exams that she will give you study guides for and there are a few assignments.

Comment:

For all you SLP majors out there, although required for the major, this class is not really tailored towards you. However, Dr. Gordon does do a really nice job of trying to incorporate us and our major into her projects. She will often rewrite her project criteria specifically to fit you and your major. Highly recommended prof! Do not pass her up!

Dr. Gordon is the kindest most amazing soul. She is a truly genuine teacher and her compassion shows in the ways that she teaches and interacts with her students. Amazing class with an amazing teacher. For once I actually feel prepared to teach in a classroom, and use the things I learned from a class.

Dr. Gordon is one of my favorite professors because she is caring and actually prepares students to become great teachers. She gives a lot of good advice and feedback. There are only 2 exams and the study sessions are very helpful. She has a lot of preplanned no class days, so we can work on her assignment. I would definitely recommend this class!

I love her! She makes class fun and makes it easy to learn. I actually enjoy going to this class and seeing her. She will help in any way she can if you need it. Her exam sessions are helpful. She doesn't hold class on certain days to give us time to do our homework. She is the best. So kind to students of all types. Take her!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! She is one of the best professors I have had so far at EMU. Clear on what she expects of you throughout the class. Go to exam study sessions - they are very helpful. She is very informative about what you will need to know in the real world. Keeps the class interesting. I enjoy going :)

She's great! One of the best professors I've had. She grades easily and is soo easy to get along with. If you go to class you will have no problem passing. She helps you with everything. There are 2 exams but they are easy. Assignments are easy and she is easy to talk to and get a hold of. I recommend taking her for this course.

I LOVE DR. GORDON! Best professor at EMU! She is very nice, and cares about all of her students. Few assignments, not really too hard. Her tests are pretty easy. I highly recommend showing up for the midterm study session (it is optional, but she tells you what you need to know for test). Over all, she is a great person and teacher. TAKE HER!!!!

BORING. Super easy but worthless and so, so boring. Assignments are weighted unreasonably high and there are very few. She literally goes through every single test problem and tells you the answers (ahem, meaningless assessment). Don't bother buying the coursepack, mine was back ordered for weeks and after I finally got it I never opened it once.

Easy class! This class can only be taken during the winter semesters but it is totally worth it. The class is a reading clinic and we are to help struggling students improve their reading and writing. Excellent class!

Dr. Gordon is super funny and very experienced! She makes sure that you know what's coming on the test with very clear reviews. She does a LOT of work with what to expect when taking the MTTC and when interviewing for a job, which goes way beyond the RDNG title of the class. She's flexible and very understanding of students. Take her!
