Comment:
Dr. Peterson is a really kind and compassionate professor. She cares about her students and is willing to make time outside of class to explain material or just talk. She's a tough grader though, so make sure you follow her directions to a 'T'. Class is super laid back (sometimes boring) but overall, I would take her again.

I've had Dr. Peterson twice already and she's very nice and casual during her classes. However, her grading is pretty harsh and doesn't seem to correlate with how relaxed she seems to in class. Make sure to definitely pay attention to her instructions because she'll take points off for anything. She's a great lady but probably wouldn't take again.

Horrible teacher, is very nit picky with papers and takes points off for no reason. Does not even bother to learn anyones names and shows up late to class. I thought her tests were difficult.

Fairly interesting class. Buying the book is definitley necessary. 3 exams are all based off of her lectures and book readings that were assigned. mostly memorization of different terms alot of which are common knowledge. don't need to read the case studies just look up or find them on sparknotes. attendance not mandatory

I took this class first semester of my freshman year, and it was a breeze. She does assign a lot of textbook readings and additional material, but the tests are mostly off of notes taken in class, and the book quizzes are SUPER easy. It is a really interesting intro course, and Dr. P is a nice and helpful prof/person, especially if you participate.

Dr. Peterson's Anth 1001 class is pretty easy- all you have to do is read the reviews at the end of each chapter she assigns, and only skim the other readings she assigns. Sometimes it's hard to stay awake in class, but if you show up and take notes, your life will be so much easier on test day.

Challenging class. Very interesting material. You need to invest some of yourself in order to get the most out of this class. Discussions and videos are good.

My worst teacher yet. The material is new, so it could be tough in the first place, but she makes it harder. 2-3 chaps of assigned reading per class and a few books you have to read and take quizzes on. Put's notes on board and hardly covers it. Didn't even try to learn hardly any of our names. Most boring voice ever. Easy to space out. Don't take

What a waste of time. I went a few times to class and thought it was boring as hell. Jane is the worst teacher at MU and you will see why. She is dull, uninteresting, and tough to get along with. She rambles on and on, in the same tone and it puts you to sleep. She grades harshly and does not give the student the benefit of the doubt. DO NOT TAKE!

Easy overall, going to class is the same as watching grass grow and reading the book provides 80% of the material for tests. Find a friend with notes, and have a good nap in the back, and you're golden

The material we learn is easy enough but she makes it much more difficult due to poor teaching. Also grading is very sketchy.

Dr. Peterson is very smart, but her lectures are very hard to follow. She goes very in depth, and its hard to concentrate on what she is saying. Also, her tests are HARD.

Dr. Peterson is a very nice teacher who will help you understand anything that you have trouble with. Towards the end of the semester she gets very indepth about evolution which I didn't really enjoy, but overall it was a really good class. You have two exams and one large paper and a few quizzes throughout the semester.

My favorite class of Peterson's was the bioarchaeology one. I highly recommend that class. I also took a middle eastern studies class of hers that was quite interesting.
