Comment:

Imitations with Professor Shore was one of the greatest classes I have ever taken at GW. She is inspiring, funny, and helpful. You do not need to have any experience in poetry to do well in the class. The poems aren't graded with letters, heightening the level of creativity in the course. If you try your best with your writing, you will do well.

Jane Shore is single-handedly the best professor I've EVER TAKEN at GW. She is the nicest, most attentive, and amazing person. Anytime you need help, she's right there to support. She wants you to be a better writer and follow whatever you're trying to pursue.

Obviously easy professor and super nice. Creative Writing itself was an uncomfortable class though. Reading aloud things you wrote was pretty embarrassing at times. I dreaded going. You will write poems, stories, etc. and read them aloud... Ugh. But you will definitely get an A- at a minimum if you have a pulse. Nice lady but def a lefty.

All you need to do for this class is show up and be enthusiastic. Professor Shore doesn't believe in grading, so just completing the assignments with some semblance of effort gets you an A. I love Professor Shore, she's hilarious and so so intelligent. She's a published poet with so much life experience that is awesome to hear about!

Definitely one of the best of the best, if not the best. So understanding and accommodating. A really sweet lady who knows her subject and loves and lives what she teaches. Prof. Shore makes class fun and interesting; it was the class everyone looked forward to. She challenges you . TAKE HER IF YOU GET THE CHANCE...THIS WOMAN IS AMAZING. Love her!

I had her for two years about a decade ago. She is one of the most positive influences on my writing. I was able to foster good habits and eliminate bad ones in this positive, round-table style environment. I got published, probably because of her. Honestly.

Absolutely Fabulous! Such a brilliant, funny, caring woman. She makes you feel comfortable from the very first moment. A brilliant writer (see the New Yorker comment) and a brilliant teacher. I would recommend her in an instant. Can't wait to take another class with her.

She has published several books and recently had a poem in the New Yorker (which is by the way impossible). She is a celebrity of poets, Take this course, this is the reason we pay 50 grand a year and its worth it.
