The sweetest lady she is so nice, but break any of her guidlines, you will experience her viscious wrath. Her lectures are long winded. Anyday of the week at least 3 students sleeping through them. I took more notes in her class than any other classs at EC. Lab tests are easy if you put study time in. I repeat STUDY TIME!Textbook useless.

she is one hard bio teacher, she'll mark you on every little thing and will only give you 2 freebies to spell things correctly..just take freeman..way easier and only take oyama if youre only taking bio and not any other class. her lab practicals are hard and her tests are beyond hard.

a really nice lady and she really tries to help you. But dead God you will hate every type of plant for the rest of your life. The class requires a TON of memorization, specifically of phylum and some classes/orders. Take pictures in lab, it helps for the lab tests. But seriously your going to HATE plants

great class. takes up all of lecture time. most labs got out early. never used the text book. lab manual was necessary. exams were difficult, but if you really study (esp. phylum, categorizing) then you should be okay. very nice. always willing to help you after class and stuff.

She is a nice teacher, yes. However, this class is extremely hard( and I like Biology, but not after this). If you have a job or you are a full time student DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!! Bio10 is intruduction to bio, yet you have to memorize scientific names of animals including phylum, class, etc. She takes attendace when the class starts,dont be late!

One of the most challenging classes I've had at this school. Oyama is very sweet and helpful (a little long winded at times)& I have learned SO much in her class. I feel very accomplishd & proud earning an A. Wish I hadn't spent $$ on the text (never used it), but lab manual is always used. Take good notes, don't skip class and STUDY!

I cannot stay awake in her boring as hell class, and trust me, I've tried everything to try to stay awake because you need to take such good notes in her class. But every single class, I fall asleep. I love science and i love biology but when she starts talking I couldn't care less what she has to say. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!

Friendly and helpful teacher. Homework easy. Lab tests were fast paced and hard. Lots of technical names that must be sp right. Lecture exams Multi Choice. Lots of studying needed to get a good grade. Started slow then was jam packed towards the end. Great for Zoology majors. Not an easy Bio requirement. book rarely used. Lab Manal used a lot.

She is so sweet, like my grandmother, but don't let that fool you! Her tests are hard! To do well, just MEMORIZE all the cells, animals, plants, etc, covered in her lectures and READ the book! Make index cards and make sure you have plenty of time to review all the material twice or three times before her exams and you will do well!

There are 4 lecture exams (100pts each), 5 lab practicals (40pts each) but the lowest score gets dropped. These tests are seriously HARD. Plan on beginning to study several days in advance for the lec. exams, several hours at a time. She does give study guides though, but be VERY thorough about studying...for everything. A little bit of EC,10pt

I never liked science classes untill I took her class. Although, you do have to study for a good grade, you will learn alot. She answers any question you have, and always makes time to help you. Her tests are tough if you don't study. Take lots of notes.. and you'll be alright.

Very nice teacher- she enjoys teaching, and explains what you don't understand. However, you do have to put some effort in studying, can't just get through this class that easily. take good notes, and she tells you what's on the test- Just study and memorize everything she lectures
