ProfJBS is an asset to the CTIM department at Massasoit. She is fast paced and witty, but with a genuine interest in helping you learn to code. You can tell she cares about teaching the course. Attendance helps a lot, but she provides video lectures as well. Take her Java course if you're a freshman CS transfer or CIS student, you won't regret it!

I took her online class and I couldn't have asked for a better professor. She is so helpful and answers emails fairly quickly. If you put in the effort you will see the result in your grade. Programming is a hard subject but she does her best to try and explain it as simple as possible and doesn't use confusing jargon.

Programming is a tough subject to introduce to noobies, She does such a great job putting things in easy to digest chunks. Always ready to admit her mistakes and laugh about them with the class. To the point, but not overly dry. Will work with every student that shows the drive to learn. Hardest working professor at the school imo(10-12 hours days)

A fantastic professor. Conceptually thorough; funny & entertaining; facilitates communication among students; online materials are top notch. She's a bit opinionated, and ignores some programming best practices, but this may only be to dumb things down so it's digestible for new programmers. Overall it's a pleasure to be in her class.

More lecture heavy than other coding teachers at Massasoit, but gives amazing help and feedback on homework and projects. Also, runs through material much faster than other teachers, but in a good way. She will get you through twice as much material and you'll learn twice as much along the way.

I've taken several classes with Janet and I LOVE her. She's willing to help you with whatever you need (she helps me outside of class all the time and has told me to tell her if I need recommendations), but she insists you learn by doing. She prefers hands-on teaching to lectures, and I've learned more in her classes than in a lot of my others.
