Dr. Dooley knows a great deal about advertising, as she's been teaching it for 39 years. The worst part was I could never decipher her handwriting on my graded assignments. At times, she even struggled to read her own handwriting. That said, the class wasn't too difficult and the tests are fairly easy as long as you come to class and take notes.

Little to no guidance on how to draft certain areas of assignments. Much of the course is dependent on group work. Chicken scratch handwriting on returned paperstough to improve work. If you don't share her feminist views best not make it known. Unfortunately if you're an ad major you really don't have a choice, you have to take her more than once

Love Prof Dooley! One of the few teachers in the Jschool who are actually passionate about Advertising. She goes exactly by her syllabus too.

Tough but fair. Dooley gives you the grade you deserve and she isn't afraid to give you criticism. If you take her classes you will learn, but you will have to work.

Long story short, she gave me zeros on 4 assignments that I completed and turned in and on a group project. I had to go through a lengthy grade appeal process and of course they sided with her. She does not grade or return assignments. DEMAND to see your grades and where you stand in the class several times throughout the semester

Prof. Dooley is a nice woman, but not a teacher. She never returns assignments, so you never know how you are doing in class and she'll assign second drafts of assignments, but never give you the first draft back in order to make changes/corrections. It's extremely frustrating. How can students make progress if we're never given feedback?

This class really wasn't bad as long as you came and and did the reading. The end of the semester was extremly stressful with two seperate projects plus a final, but it all payed off. Seems like a scary class, but it wasn't at all.

Awesome prof. We haven't done our final project yet so I'm not sure of my final grade, but so far she's very fair and reasonable. I love the "reading reactions" - you are assigned 13 and have to turn in 10; the questions are simple (just read the assignment) and she grades very generously.

Professor Dooley is a smart lady. Just go to class, and do your reading and you will be fine. I never read the full chapters of the text. I just skimmed through and picked out the important stuff, and added it to my reflections. You definately have to study for her tests, they are rough.

Great teacher, genuine in wanting you to know what you are getting into. The reflections are a hassle and the tests are manageable if you study for a couple hours. The best part is def. the campaign and looking at all the different ads. Great class.

Dooley is the best in the advertising department. She pushes you but goes completely out of her way to help you with anything you need, school-related or not. She is hard, but she is fair, and she is a great person.

Great teacher. Hard classes, but she actually makes you learn something, as opposed to most teachers at universities. I learned more from her than at my grad school.

Dooley is a very nice person and tries hard to be helpful. She's also an interesting lecturer, better with theoretical aspects, as she does not have a lot of real world experience. Assigns LOTS of busy work and is extremely slow in returning papers, which can be a problem with semester long assignments done in stages. Still, she is an easy grader.

Hard Teacher but she only challenges you. Tests are next to impossible but if you get a C on them consider yourself lucky. Projects take time and due dates will press you, but she grades fairly.

Her class in fun because she involves you in the lecture, and lets the class discuss current issues in advertising. The tests and grading are tough, but if you study you'll have no problem.

This was one hardcore class. The tests are next to impossible but somehow I managed to eek out C's on the tests and I got an A on the final project which is very tough if you put effort into it. Overall she is a difficult teacher but it is not impossible to pass as some people would have you believe

well imo, she's not a great teacher AT ALL! Very strict about duedates and such, most teachers are yes, but also, her tests are IMPOSSIBLE... make sure you study everything you've learned and then some, and you might get a C!

Well, Can i really judge her teaching abilities based on this pain in the ass class on research? Her tests were not covered in class or in text hardly for that matter. I don't know if she expected us to use the Torah Code to find the material or what
