A beacon of enthusiasm and love for literature. Prof. Gardner's attitude is infectious, and she knows her stuff about literature. A splendid professor for anyone enthusiastic about literature. For those who aren't give her a try anyway. If she can't get you into reading, you're probably a lost cause. :)

Professor Gardner is a fantastic teacher who knows her material well. She provided insightful comments on all assignments. She demanded her students break the conformity of essay assignments and try something new. The best part about her class is how discussion-based it is. Talking worked out ever bit of writer's block. I highly recommend her!!

Wicked nice lady and very smart. Don't take her class if you want an easy A. As the class goes along the assignments get tougher and more painful to complete. She never returns anything on time yet expects you to be timely in everything from attendence to assignments. She can be very unclear about most, if not all, assignments. Good Luck.

Much reading, much homework, not much input from teacher. Very uptight, stiff, and very unimaginative. Likes to pretend she's elite traditionalist. What's the point? Expects timeliness in everything from students yet does not return papers on time. Very little feedback from her. You'll be learning more from your classmates. Don't bother.

This one really knows her subject matter, especially when it comes to Shakespeare. She makes time to help out students and really can get you interested in something you would have never expected. Don't show up late or you have to recite a sonnet.

I'm sure she can teach, just not everybody. An elitist of the first order with very little to be elite about. I got "Bs" in her class by playing along.

Intelligent, but a bit stiff. Workshopping is a bit tedious, and the class format is a bit too structured and 'dry' for my taste. Her classes are relatively easy, and once you take one, you'll pretty much know the drill.
