I took CSIS-110 online with professor Gelb and all I have to say is. Online teaching still requires teaching! I emailed her multiple times with no response and when there was a response it was either, figure it out or i don't care. She gave a 100 question final to do in 60 minutes 36 seconds for each question. Horrible teacher.

She was responsive when I emailed her(online course), but a VERY harsh grader. Once you finish you work, check it twice or you WILL be sorry. There were too many times where I could swear I followed the instructions and was happy with my work but would still have my grade marked down. Very frustrating, I just took my 'B' grade and moved on.

This is a very difficult teacher. I would suggest not taking her if you ever need additional instruction or are a visual learner as I had a hard time meeting with her.Things got really difFicult around the Excel portion and there were alot of assignments that I did not receive credit for because my formulas didn't work or suit her requirements.

Class started easy enough but into Excel and Access it got more and more difficult to do things "correctly." Constantly marked off LARGE amounts of points for minor errors and assignments done "incorrectly," despite the fact that the instructions were extremely ambiguous. And after getting accused of cheating, I dropped.

I really don't understand some of these comments, because I thought she was a pretty good teacher, and really cares for her students. This is an online class, so you mostly teach yourself, but the teacher answered my questions, I did the work, and got an A.

I am 3 weeks into this class. I have to take this class as it is a requirement at this point. This class is terrible and will take more work than my other two classes combined, i am constantly confused. The teachers deadlines are unreasonably early in the week and the instructions are vague.KILL ME NOW

As someone who has used MS Office for 15 years and has passed skill testing several time in the 90th percentile I thought this class would be a breeze. Janet has no interest in "teaching" you anything. Her directions were incomplete and she WILL punish our grade for not reading her mind. She is also not helpful when you go to her for help. In fact

This class has been my worst experience at any college. She is completely lost and has no clear direction. She was leaving comments on our assignments that had nothing to do with the assignment we were working on and then she would have to go back and change the grade. I think professors like this are a waste of tax dollars and time.

The entire semester was based off of an unclear book with a professor that doesn't respond and a class 'tutor' who is as lost as you are. the on campus final was not important enough for ms. gelb to show up to so she sent someone in her place. I had an A in class and F on the final. I passed because I am smart. Not because she is a good teacher.

If you have a weird name that people can't pronounce don't take her. She is Unreasonable, you'll be judged by your name instead of the essence of your work. She is prejudice and stubborn when she is wrong. she'll never admit that she is wrong.. payback will be a "B" for her. We all bleed the same and all live once.. ain't no comin back from that...

This teacher is horrible! She knocks 80% off your grade if you make a small mistake in naming the submitted assignments (although she could never tell me what was wrong with it she held a grudge because of a previous assignment...) and another assignment, her instructions were unclear but I still demonstrated knowledge of material and got 75/150!!

CSIS-110 Online - Janet Gelb is overly critical and mean spirited. She creates a learning environment that is very discouraging and stressful, and does not accept student concerns or feedback. Written instructions are unclear, verbal instructions are frowned upon/non-existent, and grading is extremely harsh.

Incompetent and unorganized, I would strongly recommend taking this class with another instructor to save yourself the hassle (Mayne-Stafford is a good one). Took this class online, she takes days to respond to homework questions and TA isn't helpful either. Poor excuse for a teacher!

She is the worst teacher ever and is horrible at communicating. Someone hacked into my blackboard account and sent inappropriate documents to her and i could not submit my assignments because of it and she gave me zero credit so i had to drop the class. She took forever to respond to emails over it too! Avoid her

I took her online course last year. Most communication came through her TA on Blackboard. Overall, material was simple with step-by-step instructions. The best thing to remember is to not procrastinate with the assignments. They were due every weekend. She messed up the on-campus final, and I did bad as a result, but I still ended up with an A. :o)

Very unorganized and the TA does most of the grading (he is also useless) Difficult to get any form of communication or feedback. Takes days to answer homework questions, which is terrible when your trying to complete your assignment on time.
