Janet is by far my favorite professor at UW. She is incredibly passionate about the subject material. However, she writes her own textbook and knows every detail of the book- as should you by the end of class. If you read the textbook and go to class it isn't difficult but if you want an easy class this isn't it

Dr. Hyde is extremely knowledgeable in the material, however ANYTHING in her textbook is fair game. Even if you feel like you know the material, there will be questions on the exams that you wont know unless you read every sentence from the chapters in the book. Pretty much reads off her powerpoint slides the whole time & wont post them on canvas

Dr. Hyde was an awesome professor and definitely would take a class with her again. The course was very heavy on reading, and there were minimal opportunities to earn points so you really have to make the most of the points you can earn.

Dr. Hyde is very excited when it comes to educating people about human sexuality. There are errors in her textbooks and lectures, but she tries her best to keep everything up to date. She is also very easy to talk to and offers up to 6 points of extra credit which can help save your butt. I am taking another one of her classes next semester!

My favorite professor at UW so far. I have her for Human Sexuality (now psych 453) and she makes the lectures and material interesting and rather enjoyable. Definitely a lot of reading, but easy reads and super manageable exams. Lots of extra credit offered!!!! Take this class with her if you have the chance.

Best professor I've had at the University so far. I absolutely love her. She makes lectures fun, which is not easy. It's easy to engage with the material and what she is teaching. She's very thoughtful and considerate of her students, and it's easy to tell that she loves what she teaches! Take a class with her if you ever have the opportunity!

One of my favorite professors of all time. Tough, but smart as a whip and really makes you think and engage with the material. She's also unfailingly kind. Highly recommend.

Janet is by far one of the best professors I've had. She's extremely passionate about what she teaches, and the topics discussed are very interesting/informative. However, you better get ready to read very long chapters every week, as tests are compiled of a series of very specific details from the book. I still would highly recommend this course.

Dr. Hyde is very passionate about sexuality. She presents interesting and engaging lectures, and is open to differing points of view. However, exam questions are unnecessarily specific, which makes it difficult to study everything that's expected of you both effectively and efficiently. Beware of "A & C only" or "All/None of the Above" questions.

Dont let Janets perceived niceness fool you, she is tough. The class is the textbook, not the lectures or section. Test questions are literal one liners from the textbook, you cant possibly know every line. I have a 3.8, and this class has been my hardest so far, however I did learn an incredible amount about sex and sexuality. Very LGBTQ+ friendly

I highly recommend this class to anyone, regardless of major. It is extremely informative on sex and the human body. That being said, the exams are tougher than necessary, in my opinion. In order to get an A, you need to really know "trivia" questions, which is rather unfortunate.

Lectures can be entertaining, however, exams suck ballz. Multiple choice exams but every question is "all/none of the above" or "both a & b?". She's horrible at making exams. Make sure you read the textbook. Pretty much everything is taken from the book, some from lecture. There's also a discussion to this class that's pretty pointless.

Dr. Hyde is an amazing, engaging professor. The tests were fairly easy, just make sure you do textbook readings; Connect assignments help solidify concepts. Expect "none/all of the above" or "a and c" questions. My study habits weren't great but I still managed an A and the final was really fair. She also gave generous extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Hyde's lectures are entertaining and engaging. She knows a lot about human sexuality (considering she wrote the textbook)! I always enjoyed coming to lecture. The tests are all multiple choice and can be relatively tricky (many of the questions are pretty detail-oriented).

Used Connect questions to prep for all mid-terms. Used Connect again for cumulative final. Guess what, new questions (completely redundant, poorly worded, spelling mistakes, not even in actual textbook reading) pop up when I went through previous chapters covered in mid-terms.

It doesn't matter if you know the material by heart. It doesn't matter if you go for all classes. Some exam questions can have two PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE answers but only one correct answer (whichever one she picks and will NOT change) If you do well on exams, it is most likely luck. So, good luck.

Annoyingly difficult. The tests are laughably overcomplicated. You think you're going to do well - but the questions are so poorly worded, you end up getting a lot wrong. Discussion section utterly useless. TAs pretty unhelpful. You learn a lot of interesting things - but it's so annoyingly hard to get an A or even a B in here. Needs restructuring.

Great lectures but tests are absolutely horrible - especially if you hate multiple choice exams. The questions are worded poorly and she loves to use the "all of the above/none of the above" questions. Lecture is interesting but worthless as the exams are 100% written from the book. She loves to find small details in the book and test on them.
