By far the best prof I have every had. I saw someone said that he looks down on anyone that isn't European and that's just plain wrong. He gets to know (most) of his students and always wants more for them. He's lived a crazy interesting life and wants that for his students. I really got to know him during my courses and he's amazing

He is a very knowledgeable, experienced and simply an excellent professor. You have to ask him if you need help but then he goes out of his way to give you as much info as he can. The material is extremely in teresting and he includes the latest research results in his lectures. Overall one of the best teachers at the university. Highly recommended

Okay so. He's interesting. If you don't take notes and can't stand to listen to a lecture, then this isn't for you. But he is a really sweet old guy and he is passionate about what he does. He pokes fun at people a lot, but you can sort of tell that it's just his sense of humor and he wants you to laugh with him! :)

Utterly fantastic prof. It's so refreshing to learn from an educator who has legitimate first-hand experience. He isn't making up what he knows, he speaks from the heart and mind. And he's just the right amount of tough, I find. Ideal for anyone who desires a strong Fine Arts History education!

Finally a UPEI prof who isn't a PC wuss. Will make you work, but you'll get an A if you stick with it. He's not going to hold your hand, but he'll respect you if you take a real interest. Occasionally invites students on archaeological digs overseas.

Very tough professor who appears to believe anyone not from Europe and who doesn't speak more then one language is beneath him. If you are not familiar with the works and arts prior to the class I think you will have a difficult time. I don't think he enjoys teaching anymore also.

You must work hard at his classes, and this requires attending lectures and spending time in the slide room reviewing on your own. Overall, he's very fair, expectations are clear and he makes the material very interesting. I would highly recommend his classes.

He makes you like arts. He knows a lot, and you can tell how much he loves ancient paintings and stuff...just he doesn't follow the textbook, and you have to come and use the slide for yourself to review.

You will work harder for an 80 in this course than any other you could ever take. He thinks that other universities have harder FAH courses, but I have taken them elsewhere and they are not nearly as demanding. Prepare to commit your semester to his classes.

Extremely passionate professor. the kind that inspires your intrests. You can tell art is something he cherishes. He is well read and well practiced in archaeology and classes are easy and geared towards education rather than testing.

Warning! do not take this class unless you are prepared to really really work hard at it and like it. It is not an easy course unless you are very passionate about art. Fedak is exploding with enthusiasm for art and that is raelly cool. If you're really into art go for it!

He knows a lot about the material and is very interesting. He'd be great in a non-intro class where he could go on more (though he covers everything well as it is). He comes across pretty harsh when you answer a question wrong, but other than that he's good. Wish he'd remember my name though.

Incredibly intelligent, great lectures, very passionate about his work. Loved his class. Will admit that the amount of memorization is difficult and his tests are very pressed for time.

Passionate- especially when he goes on an anecdote of either his own, or one of the pertinent artists. don't be put off by his direct questions, just tell him what you think and why. very accommodating.

A bit of a psycho...but very passionate. Has a tendency to present slides, and then demand that students in the class guess what the art piece is depicting before moving on in the lecture. If a student makes an incorrect guess, he mocks them. Oh, so encouraging.
