Dr. Best is old school. Walking into class, he lets you know exactly what he expects from you so there is no confusion. Missing more than (3) of his classes results in a letter grade reduction. Be ready for the math, because he's an astrophysicist and that's his thing.

Dr. Best is a robust professor. He helps you identify the problems you are having after your first test if you see him during office hours. Be prepared to read. If you don't read, you won't pass. Also, don't skip his class. If you do skip his class, you will do horrible on most of the quizzes.

Dr. Best was incredibly fun to have as a professor and he's obviously very passionate about Astronomy. Astro 1 students are required to do a group observing project and corresponding paper, so fair warning.

BEWARE ASTRONOMY IS ACTUALLY ASTROPHYSICS. I didn't realize that when I signed up for the class. Dr. Best isn't a bad professor but he expects a lot from his students. Be prepared to do a lot of outside class work and studying. If you study less than 8 hours for the test, you will not pass.

Best can be a hard teacher to get used to. He does explain material pretty well but tests are so hard. Do the readings, ARCHITECTURE is a must, tests can be tricky he likes to confuse you. Never got above a D on one. Do well on your labs and you will pass.

I love Dr. Best! I have him for conceptual physics. He tells you everything you need to know in lecture so make sure you actually go to class. Also, make sure to carefully read the textbook, do the homework or practice problems he gives you in class, and FOLLOW THE ARCHITECTURE! He is very willing to help you out, so always ask questions.

Quite honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is passionate and cares that you understand and learn about the material and it is very apparent that he loves to teach and loves the subject. Take Dr. Best for as many classes as you can!!!

dr best is pretty laid back. he gets off topic a lot and makes a lot of nerdy jokes. He wants his students to succeed. he is very passionate about his work, and if you ask intelligent questions, you will get an intelligent answer. if you want to learn about astronomy, take this class.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Best. he is extremely egotistical and sometimes gets frustrated when the class as a whole does poorly, but he is hilarious and truly cares about his students. He makes physics interesting and fun, is a total nerd, and up to date on current lingo etc. good class, learned a lot, but had to put in a ton of work. can't skate by.

Absolutely the worst professor I've had so far. Not only does he single out students in class to make them feel like idiots, but he also belittles you one on one when you ask for help. He tries to make the class fun by adding nerdy lingo, but it just sidetracks him and then everyone is lost. Avoid him at all costs.

Dr. Best is the coolest guy I've ever met. He has so much knowledge, but also...wisdom. And he's hilarious. I mean truly hilarious. Your face will hurt hilarious. The class was tough and nobody ever did well on the tests but he's awesome so it's somehow okay. Study really hard and do the reading (he doesn't push it so you have to self-motivate).

I LOVE DR.BEST!! to sum it up...Dr. Best: brilliant, engaging, kind, caring, hilarious.
