DO NOT TAKE MATH3300 Course material isnt hard but unless you LOVE manually applying the simplex algorithm over and over and doing TONS of tedious math until the heavens fall from the skies then DO NOT take this course. 2nd assignment was out of 150 points & we had 1 week. 90% of your will be: whoever does tedious math fast without errors wins.

Dr. Brown really seems to care about teaching and clearly knows his stuff. His test marking is tough, i.e., he is very, very unforgiving of small method errors (e.g., dropping a negative half way through). That said he is fair. Do the work and he will reward you with the grade you deserve.

Funny guy with an extremely dry sense of humour, which I appreciate. I could have done a lot better in his Optimization class if I'd tried harder, but the material was just way too dull and tedious to hold my attention. His messy blackboard writing makes things more confusing than they need to be, but he'll gladly stop and clarify if you ask.

Dr. Brown is very clear and really good at explaining the subject matter. His tests are extremely long however, so there isn't often enough time to correct mistakes and still complete the exam. Decent over all though.

He is a very smart guy, but sometimes he expects students can be as smart as he is, and then speeds up in the class, and then i just totally lost. i put lots lots of work on this class, but sadly, its the lowest mark i got in this semester. and he doesnt answer your email.

He told us that there wouldn't be any long code on the midterm. So the class studied the one or two liners. Then on the midterm there was a part where we had to write a page full of computer code. When we asked him about it he said, "oh, I meant there was only short code for the 1st question".Thanks for nothin... :(

Wow.. great prof. Actually knew how to explain things clearly, which, sadly, is not a trait shared by most profs these days. Funny ,genuinely smart and interesting to listen to. Goes off on tangents, but they're acutally very interesting and you don't mind listening. All 1st years should learn from him - plus he speaks english, which is also rare :

A very kind and helpful man, was very considerate of the fact that none of us were science students, even though the material was mathematic and complicated.
