Will push you to your best and has little patience for those that want to waste his time or the time of others. Still live by many of the principles that he taught. Not easy, but well worth it!

Here's the run down! Rees is a great person, however, he definitely plays favorites and it is blatantly obvious. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR HIS CLASS! If you're going to excel in his class, go on ahead. If not, just lay low and don't cause trouble. Do this and you will be just fine. Don't get on his bad side or he will actively come after you.

Marching band with Professor Rees has probably been the hardest thing I have ever done...but is the most rewarding thing I have ever accomplished. The name POA is not given, it is earned. Professor Rees is a great leader. No regrets about taking the class.

If you sign up for his marching band class, you will not regret it. He demands all he can out of students and makes it an experience you'll remember and keep wanting to come back to.

I honestly don't know how everybody loves this man. The people who look up to him come from small band programs who are not successful Maybe coming from a marching band program that is actually award winning and productive changes the way I view the way this class is run, but it is very frustrating. A hypocrite.

Professor Rees is absolutely amazing! He is one of the best. If you really enjoy music and want to experiance what it is like to be in the marching band at the University of Arizona take this class. Also, you learn a lot about yourself, about life, and well grow as a muscian. You create tight bonds with people and sections and in some ways can s

Prof. Rees is truly one of the best college professors I have ever had. The folks who don't like him are usually the ones who are creating problems anyway. Rees will demand your best and make you a better musician to boot. He has built the Pride of Arizona Marching Band to one of the most respected Division 1 college programs in the country.

I never understood how well Rees put together the PoA until I left & marched somewhere else. His teaching methods may be odd for some, but ultimately, they are extremely effective. He commands respect from students & promises a great performance, and he delivers annually. You don't need to buy into everything, but you'll learn plenty from him.

Rees is interesting. His shows are either hit or miss, and each year the shows become less and less innovative. He's a good guy, good at motivating people, but had a tendency to reward suckups. Cares more about you thinking what he thinks than thinking for yourself

Worst "teacher" I've ever had! If you are thinking of going to the UofA because of him, you might want to reconsider your selection and do some more research. He's incredibly unprofessional and only interested in making himself look good.

First off, it's marching band...everybody that takes it, loves it! Rees himself is a little intimidating, but after a while you see that he's an awesome, but sometimes creeping guy. Overall, I'm enjoying it!
