I really don't understand what's so good about this teacher. She tries to hard to get students to interact in her lectures. She's tough, doesn't explain anything well. She's vague about when an assignment is due. The online midterm and final is based off the book but even if you read and study you'll still get a low grade. Stay away! Not clear!

The class content was not difficult, but she was super late most of the semester.She was just okay, not great or terrible. SI is mandatory. you can turn in your work late and she allows re-writes. easy class if you do your work

She is the best! Other speech 101 classes had to do 6 speeches, but in her class we did only 4. Outlines are important and are due during every speech. Midterm and final done online. Allows 3 absences. One extra credit opportunity worth 10%. Just attend class, submit assignments on the McGraw website, show some interest and give speeches. Easy A.

At first I was freaked out by the thought of taking speech. Prof Perry turned my fear into excitement. She's clear and very helpful when it comes to first time speakers. She gives extra credit and a few online quizzes. Buying the online book was a waste but you need it for the final. Very fun class. Take her! You won't regret it!

Very easy class as long as you do the quizzes, midterm and the final. The only negative thing i have to say about her course is that the online book is absolutely mandatory and it costs 80 bucks. She is really kind, understanding and helpful.

Very easy and fun class. To get a good boost, do extra credit chapter reports, they are so easy. She is a fair grader, and you get to take your tests in groups. Follow her comments and you will do fine.

Professor Perry is a great!! You must take her! You have to do four speeches in the semester along with their outlines. She lets you know what she will expect out of the speech. Her midterm and final exams are online, as well as other class assignments. She is funny and fun to talk to. :)

Took her this summer. The class goes by quickly so stay on top of material & assignments- there's lots. She gives extra credit. She's fair and straightforward. She gives a lot of info in class which meant little use for the $80 textbook (waste, I thought)- except for the quizzes & exams. Recommend.

She's a pretty good teacher and grades fairly easy during the speeches. When doing your outline, make sure you check at least 2 or 3 times for spelling/grammar/formatting errors because she is ANAL about it and takes 2 points off for every tiny spelling or grammar mistake. Other than that, the class is pretty easy if you just do the work

head of speech dept. doesn't get more experienced than that. very thorough,fair,and understands that speech isn't a natural gift for all students. doesn't laugh much and is hard to read, but is very thorough in feedback; provides detailed feedback sheets w/grade for each speech. Take this class if you want someone who knows what they're doing.
