Comment:

He's kind of an oddball and relies an awful lot on showing movies. Goes on unrelated art history rants. You can learn a lot and improve your skills with his help, but I wouldn't take him again unless you're an art major. Average grading, not an easy A but definitely not hard to pass. Crack some jokes with him and you'll be on good terms.

Comment:

You have to buy a $60 art kit at the beginning of class. Your grade is based on the sketchbook, where 1 page is 1%. It's hard to complete even if you do go to class each week. You gotta keep on top of it or else you fall behind and when you do fall behind you fall HARD. He's not helpful at all if you miss class, so you have to go.

This class was very enjoyable. Mr. bushman is funny and though he sees things a certain way he wants you succeed weather youre striving for an art major or just need the credit hes not afraid to help you out, direct you in your art journey.

This man is a terrible teacher. He is pretty easy with grading and his class isnt too hard to pass, but he never really explains anything. I spent way way more time studying the book at home than I spent in his class. On top of that, he is SOOO bipolar. Sometimes hes pretty nice but you just never know when he is gonna yell at you for no reason.

He is a good artist, but he doesn't understand the subject when it comes to art history. If you are taking this class for credits, take a different teacher because you are basically taking a art history class with a drawing class. He looses track of the topic, and most of the time you need to figure everything out for yourself.

He's a talented artist.. and that's about it. He does not care about you as a student let alone an artist. All he cares about is showing you his work.. Does not teach you how to do things and expects you to draw masterpieces.. If you care about your future as an artist, DO NOT take his class.

Although he really knows art, there are number of problems I had with this teacher. The test are worth 88% of the grade. They're only 25 multiple choice each, but that means if you miss two, you have an A- in the class. I never felt comfortable asking questions in class, because he tends to make fun of students if they don't get something.

Worst teacher in the history of UVU. Both me and my wife took from his class. We emailed every time we were going to be absent (like he asks), one for my wife being sick (never replied), one for both of us missing for a wedding (said he "didn't care"), one for us not knowing where the class was because he never replies to emails. STAY AWAY FROM HIM

He was ok. I wouldn't take him again and won't recommend him. He taught ok, he knows what he's doing, but he also can't see beyond his type of art. There are MANY types of art and he doesn't think it's good unless you can draw like him. He would loudly criticize students work in front of the class. He wouldn't give good feedback to help you.

Class is easy. Attendance is important but not crucial. you have to buy an ART kit for around $65. fill the 100 page book with drawings. The professor gives you examples of what to draw. Some classes are important because he teaches the a new drwing method/technique. NO QUIZES. Your grade is based on attendance and effort put of the drawings.

Fun teacher, makes intro to Art interesting. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Study for his tests. He gives you exactly what you need to know, but you have to study.

He really is a great teacher and is very enjoyable to be around. He is always adding in humor throughout class and really is just a laid back guy. He really does know what he's talking about. He is very firm on class attendance. 100% is 100 pages of art. He does want certain drawings in the book and the only way to get those is to come to class.

Bushman is a dedicated, talented Art professor. He's pretty clear with his expectations. He demonstrates how to draw stuff wc is amazing! He transitions you to basic through intermediate Art. He brings models and apples and former sketches too. Will definitely miss his fun stories. One of the best Art professors at UVU! Go take this class!

Jeff knows his stuff. He is a great artist, and looks at the world around him in a very unique way. Learning from him is a pretty interesting experience. However, he can be very condescending. He must be the alpha, or he freaks out or will lash out on students. If you let him think he's in control and is the boss, things should be okay.

Pretty dang good! He's funny, and knows his stuff, but doesn't much care for goofing off. And the class is so much better if you actually take his advice. As I said, he knows what he's talking about (Plus, actually listening to him when he gives you advice, and then actually doing it gets you on his good side ;D )

He was very helpful. Your not required to attend every class but it is easier to keep up and learn the new techniques, I did miss a few classes and was still able to get an A in the class. He is very helpful and passionate. He is amazing at drawing himself. You aren't required to show the class your work, which I loved since I'm an average drawer.

Bushman's Art 1010 is undeniably an easy A. You have 4 tests through the semester. Each with 25 questions and his study guides tell you exactly what's on the test. You also watch lot's of movies. Other than his personal vendetta towards me, it's an alright class. Not worth driving to SF.

Mr. Bushman is the best! He grades on improvement and trust me- if you take his class, you WILL see improvement. Not too much book work and his tests are very simple. Do the work, come to class, and listen to his funny stories. Definitely choose Bushman.
