Comment:

Roche might be one of the best professors Ive ever had. He teaches more than just history and does a great job not just teaching us but understanding the class and how we learn. There was a lot of reading, 6 books in fact, but he teaches you how to read like a historian and get the most out of the book. Definitely going to use this in the future!

This is the man professors should strive to be. His lectures are fantastic, his tangents hilarious, and his dedication to his job is unreal. This is a man who genuinely believes it is his mission to train you for the real world, and wants you to come to him when you have a hard time--that's why his classes are so hard. And I thank him for that.

Tremendous prof, probably the best in history and one of the best at the College. Be ready to work, he wants you to be successful both at college and in life and isn't afraid to show you how hard it is. Hot as heck.

Fantastic lecturer! Tons of reading, six books for one class, but they were interesting reads. The fact that there were only three grades, two of them being due finals week, was very stressful though.

If you want to take a class that's fun and informative, take one of Roche's. Doesn't matter if you're a history major because he teaches for the masses, not just history majors. You don't have to show up to every class, but if you miss a couple of classes he will hunt you. He does use alot of books, but all are good reads. Keep up on the read

Dr Roche is the most entertaining and interesting professor I have ever had. I would rather listen to him lecture for an hour than do group work stuff, he is that fun to listen to. My 80 minute class flew by.

Very knowlegable about history with a great sense of humor. Can be intimidating, as he expects you to be as smart as you really are. Follows the Socratic method religiously, and he will do his best to make you a workaholic. Still one of the best.
